Note: you need to have a minimum of 10 - 15 GB of empty hard drive space at all times in order for the OS to function properly. So, you need to delete enough files to create at least 15 - 20 GB free space and then download the new OS.

Oct 23, 2014 12:34 AM in response to babowaby dang314,Empty the trash within iPhoto. If you have every backed up an iPhone or iPad to your computer with a USB cable you will need to delete old backups as well.

Oct 23, 2014 5:29 AM in response to hcbarajasby kahjot,4GB of RAM or 4GB of disk space? You need 4GB of RAM for the OS to work decently.
You should have quite a bit more than 4GB of free space on your hard drive for anything to function well.
