Oct 27, 2014 12:50 PM in response to Breadman86by gbeast,★HelpfulI find that the issue doesn't start until I open Messages and have it running in the background. It gets even worse when using the mouse in the Messages interface.

Oct 29, 2014 9:53 AM in response to Breadman86by Gagan0123,Same here, its like Apple has used 1 second delay for standby, which isn't good, you hover over something and connection is gone, then you try to scroll up or down, you think its not working, you do it faster, and the whole page scrolls up and down. Weird. I don't even want a better battery life for my mouse, just need it to be functional.

Oct 29, 2014 12:19 PM in response to Breadman86by brotherludi,★HelpfulHere is what you gotta do (with regarding to the magic mouse issue)
Go to your System Preferences-> Bluetooth -> Right click on your mouse icon show in the list then REMOVE it -> re-pair your mouse -> Congradulations, all working now!

Oct 29, 2014 12:30 PM in response to brotherludiby ricardoinacio,I have tried it twice already, re-pairing does not work. Also, at least for me, the sluggishness of the magic mouse is intermittent, and I have yet to discover what causes it. Someone said Messages App caused it for him, but for me it is not.

Oct 29, 2014 1:05 PM in response to brotherludiby Gagan0123,Did that already, doesn't help
Though connecting the power cable does help, but I don't carry it with me all the time and I work from coffee shops and cafes, where I'm still unable to operate my Magic Mouse.

Nov 5, 2014 11:38 AM in response to Gagan0123by Forgewire,I had the same problem, after contacting Apple they advised me:
First, To perform the SMC reset:
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Plug in the charger to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
3. On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option(Alt) keys and the power button at the same time.
4. Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
5. Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the charger may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
Then, To reset the NVRAM:
1. Shut down your Mac.
2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option (ALT), P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
3. Turn on the computer.
4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
6. Release the keys.
Now it works like a magic (mouse)!
P.S. I have MacBookPro with Retina display 2013

Nov 5, 2014 12:16 PM in response to Breadman86by armadillo777,Had very similar issues with my Magic Mouse going all jittery and hesitant. I am ashamed to admit to smashing one MM to pieces out of aggravation. This has happened to 3 Magic Mice that I've owned and, as a designer, makes working very problematic. I've read where there can be interference from any number of peripherals: cordless phones, MyBook external hard drives, WiFi printer. I've done everything including removing monitors, drives, batteries, put foil on the terminals and cardboard between the batteries, zapped the PRAM, repaired Disk Permissions. I even cleaned and dusted in the inside of the computer for chance a giant dust bunny was shorting out something.
After driving to the Apple Store today with my desktop and said mouse, and having them do a thorough once over, we discussed one more possible peripheral that might be affecting the Bluetooth signal. Below my desk I have an APC Back-UPS XS 1300 power backup unit. I moved it 3 ft to the left, away from directly under where my mouse sits, and like Magic, the mouse is working flawlessly. A true test was playing on my favorite decompressing sites (Mahjong and Jigsaw Puzzle) where you have to pickup and move pieces.
So far so good. It can't be a coincidence that all 3 mice have had issues. It was either the internal Bluetooth unit, or something was messing with the signal. It seems to have been the latter.
Hope this helps.

Nov 5, 2014 1:48 PM in response to armadillo777by ricardoinacio,The problem is that, for 2 years, my macbook, apple wireless keyboard and magic mouse have always worked correctly, regardless of other wireless devices in any ambient I was. Now, those same ambients have problems, whereas the only change was Mavericks -> Yosemite upgrade.

Nov 5, 2014 5:15 PM in response to ricardoinacioby Forgewire,Just want to update that SMC and NVRAM reset was a temporal remedy.
The problem continued and update to 10.10.1 beta https://appleseed.apple.com/sp/betaprogram/ fixed it (as suggested inBluetooth problem with OSX Yosemite: Magic Mouse and Keyboard)

Nov 6, 2014 10:17 AM in response to Breadman86by rmzajac,>>my magic mouse is sluggish, sometimes unresponsive, and jitters across the screen
Whenever I plug-in a USB HD into my MB Air (mid-2012), the above issues appear. Apple BT keyboard connectivity is sporadic as well.
Disconnecting USB solves issues. Repeatable.
Have not done the SMC and NVRAM reset.

Nov 9, 2014 6:38 PM in response to Breadman86by OrganicMattson,I have the same problem using my Magic Mouse. I have not found a fix yet that works. All fixes have been temporary, and it is very hard to do graphic-design work, among others.
I'm waiting for a solution.
