Jun 14, 2015 1:33 PM in response to mjsharplesby mjsharples,My problems have gone away now that I have turned off Handoff on the Mac. Cannot take any credit for this, saw it on a few posts but I left it on because I found the feature useful. Not as useful as being able to use my keyboard, trackpad and mouse without jittering so I turned it off. Problems have gone away after a reboot.
Settings>General and take the tick out of Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.

Jun 14, 2015 2:01 PM in response to mjsharplesby JSA271,I did the same thing last Friday. I also turned off Bluetooth PAN and something else that was suggested in postings. The problem has disappeared, at least for now. Too many people have said their problems went away, only to have them return a day or two later, for me to declare success yet!

Jun 15, 2015 6:55 AM in response to mjsharplesby FWBurr,This seems to have made a huge improvement (the issue has disappeared - at least for the moment). Only time will tell?

Jun 15, 2015 10:06 AM in response to mjsharplesby FWBurr,A couple of hours ago, I thought I was all set by turning off HandsOff. I guess I spoke too soon, since the problem has started to reoccur. Rats!

Jun 15, 2015 10:16 AM in response to Breadman86by DDD-MAN,Been more than 2 weeks and i'm still perfect by switching my WIFI band. I hope it continues.

Jun 23, 2015 12:27 AM in response to DDD-MANby DavidMurray,Ok guys,
For me it was the wifi channel too, my router was on channel 12 and I set it to auto, I assume it moved it to 6 the standard and the mouse is now fine.
Hope that helps.

Jun 25, 2015 2:36 PM in response to Breadman86by Jamnoggin ,I'm getting this annoying bug too.
When I move my cursor it only registers the occasional movement and moves between approximately 5 pixels and 20 seemingly at random. Everything else about the mouse is working as it should. My Apple Wireless keyboard is working flawlessly. I'm beginning to assume it's the optical sensor because the keyboard is still completely fine.
My magic mouse has worked flawlessly since November 2013 until about a week ago.
I've tried every solution that I've found online so far:
- Cleaning the sensor.
- Using the mouse on various surfaces.
- Using the mouse from as far away in the room as I can manage while still viewing the screen.
- Moving/Unplugging nearby electrical equipment.
- Replacing the batteries. (Official Apple rechargeables and new third party non-rechargeables.)
- Placing aluminium foil over the contacts.
- Padding out the battery compartment with card.
- Turning Wi-Fi off.
- Turning Bluetooth on and off.
- Removing the mouse as a paired device and re-adding it.
- Changing my router's band from 11 to 1 and 6.. same result.
- Resetting SRC
- Resetting NVRAM
- Restarting
- Shutting Down
Apple Magic Mouse.
21" iMac 2013I really hope that joining the Beta for El Capitan fixes this issue.
I'm not sure I'll bother forking out £45 for a new Magic Mouse as much as I do love using one.A one year warranty is very miserly for a £1000+ piece of hardware.

Jun 27, 2015 2:50 AM in response to Jamnogginby Jamnoggin ,(I forgot to include turning off handoff and restarting in my list above.)
UPDATE:
In my frustration I ordered a £6 faux leather mousemat from Amazon to see if it made any difference and it arrived today. To my joy, the mouse is far more responsive on the mat and is useable again.
It still remains useless on surfaces that it before had no problem with. Therefore, presumably this adds more logic behind my diminishing optical sensor theory.
I now have a magic mouse that only functions on a not-so-magic mat..

Jun 28, 2015 11:37 AM in response to j15benby RichardLeon,I've found:
1. Movement is laggy when the mouse is too far away from the Mac.
2. Movement is laggy if there's anything potentially conductive between the computer and the Mac - including mugs of tea.
3. If movement is fine but finger-scrolling is laggy and you have BetterSnapTool installed, try disabling it.
The useful mouse range seems to be around 1.5m max, with clear line of sight. Any more causes issues.
Almost anything electronic can interfere with Bluetooth, so try to keep the Mac as far as possible from monitors, hard drives, and such. You may need to rearrange cables so the part that's in direct line of sight with the mouse is as short as possible.
Obviously this can be a problem. But I've found moving things around on my desk can create an extra couple of feet of range, which is enough to change the experience from useless to usable.
I still have problems with the Bluetooth driver taking a really long time to reconnect when the connection drops. For some reason this makes the Mac rescan its hard drives, load some big file from the drive, and do a bunch of other stuff that takes a long time.
There may be other software issues. But generally I find if I try to keep the connection clean, the mouse is usable now on 10.10.3.

Jul 7, 2015 9:10 AM in response to RichardLeonby aviavi,I'm having the same problems with slow, sluggish response with a Magic Mouse on OS X Yosemite 10.10.4, on a 2015 Macbook Pro 13" Retina, connected to an external display.
This happens most often when I'm downloading a file. As soon as the download starts, the computer (i.e., mouse cursor) becomes poorly responsive and sluggish. Very very annoying.

Sep 5, 2015 9:00 AM in response to aviaviby iDash,I have the same problem and tried ALL of the workarounds mentioned above although I do seem to see an improvement when I move my iPhone, iPad away from my mac mini. However I want to share my experience so that is may help with causality:
I have to Mac Mini's side by side on my desk (about 20' cm apart)
1xMid 2010 / 2.66 C2D Ghz, 8GB Ram, 750GB Hybrid (Samsung 128SSD) running 10.10.5 Yosemite SERVER - NO Jittery Mouse Syndrome (JMS) what so ever
1xLate 2012 / 2.5Ghz i5, 16GB Ram Samsung 250GB SSD running 10.10.5 Yosemite - Regular JMS
Both have their own separate BT Apple Keyboards and Magic Mice. Also on the same desk I have another BT keyboard which is used with iPad air 1 (so I have 3 BT keyboards 2 mice on my desk). Also have a Magic Trackpad that also experiences issues, although rarer than mouse
It should be noted that prior to owning the late 2012 Mini (about 3 months ago) I have another Mid 2010 with almost identical spec and Yosemite and I NEVER NEVER NEVER had JMS what so ever - so it would imply that its isolated to the specific model i.e. 2012 in my case and/or as result of the hardware mods that I performed.
When I purchased the 2012 Mini I immediately upgraded it with (Samsung Pro, I think) SSD and 16GB (Crucial) drive so I can't say whether it had the issue or not. I can't quite recall if I restored the previous (Mid 2010) mini onto the SSD drive or whether I performed a fresh install of yosemite (I think the latter), So I wanted to check with other folks whether (so if there is a theme or pattern)
- They have performed a Time Machine (or Carbon copy or other app) restore onto their Mac
- Whether have perform any hardware upgrades themselves in case they have damaged or affected the internal electronics somehow (although I had previously performed the hardware mods myself on the other minis without issues so I doubt its that)
- Any improvement as a result of performing a fresh install of Yosemite (as I haven't tried that) ?
- Do others have an apple Watch as it may or may not be connected as naturally that is always in close proximity of mini(s)
As mentioned the other mini (Mid 2010) is completely unaffected - irrespective of proximity of keyboards, mice, iPhone, iPad, Macbook air. I have also swapped around Magic mice and the issue only manifests itself on Late 2012 - so it would strong suggest its related to the Late 2012 model ONLY - hardware and/or OS install and NOT an inherent/generic Yosemite problem, right?
I use the mid2010 as 24/7 OSX/iTunes server where as the Late 2012 mini is my 'desktop' machine but I not sure whether the main use affects this problem or not. I am sorry that i don;t have a solution but other folks out there may see some correlation to what I've experienced?
Thanks Rob
PS - Hopefully El Captain fixes this issue - P L E A S E !!

Sep 14, 2015 4:16 AM in response to rmzajacby Matt Earwicker,This worked for me - instant improvement. I am using a USB 3.0 Hub from inateck on the right USB port (next to HDMI). Connecting the hard drive directly didn't cause the same problem. Same problem with USB drive plugged in directly, takes a while before it slows down though.
Am also using a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard (k760). But no other bluetooth devices switched on.

Sep 22, 2015 11:20 AM in response to Breadman86by Garo9,I was experiencing all of the same problems as well. As I went through plugging and unplugging various peripheral devices I discovered a USB 3.0 hub, which has its own on/off switch, was a major contributor to the problem. When it was connected and turned on, it made the biggest impact, although some of the other factors noted elsewhere (Bluetooth PAN, WiFI, etc) were also contributors. For now my magic mouse is back to normal but clearly Apple needs to devote e some time and attention to these kinds of issues if it wants to grow its ecosystem. If the parts and pieces of the ecosystem continue with compatibility issues then Apple will learn what global warming really means.

Sep 23, 2015 1:32 AM in response to Breadman86by NicSpox,Same problem here.
Macbook pro 9.2 and yosemite 10.10.5.
I have this problem after installing Yosemite
I always have problems reconnecting bluetooth magic mouse and wifi 5GHz after sleep.
I think that the problems are on broadcom module drivers.

Sep 23, 2015 11:26 PM in response to NicSpoxby iDash,I have RESOLVED / FIXED my issue COMPLETELY by doing both of the following (not sure its either or a combination of the two):
- Like some of the other above, I've stopped using an ANKER USB 3.0 Hub
- Opened up the Mini and reseated the Bluetooth cable (incase It was moved as part of the upgrades I did)
and I'm happy to report I've seen no further occurrence of the issue (it seems to be related to USB 3.0 interfering with the bluetooth chip/signal/wiring). Also I saw a further solution to shield the bluetooth chip/electronics EMI Copper foil tape and and whilst I bought some I didn't need to use it.
Good luck guys
Rob
