Mac Mini w/Bluetooth Speaker & Mic does not work on FaceTime

I have a MacMini, so I know it does not have a built in mic. I purchased a Modal bluetooth speaker with built in mic. When doing FaceTime, I can hear the other person, but they cannot hear me at all. I have checked the output and input in System Preferences to be sure the bluetooth speaker is selected. I have also selected the bluetooth speaker from the Video menu in FaceTime.

Does anyone know of a speaker and microphone that will work with the MacMini and FaceTime? Or does anyone know a step that I am missing to get my bluetooth speaker working with FaceTime?
