No shutter sound after updating ios 8.1 on iphone 5s

Did you already reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes up again? You will not lose data by resetting, but it can clear some glitches after installing new software or apps.

I met almost same problem with iOS 8.1 and my iPhone 5 32GB

the first picture is mute, the other following have usual shutter sound.

i have same problem on iOS 8.1.1 iPhone 5s 64GB 😟 Did you find any solution?

I'm experiencing this same issue on iPhone 6, iOS 8.1.2.

There is no shutter sound on the first shot. Doesn't matter which camera app - Camera, Hipstamatic, VSCO.

It's quite annoying.

I have to admit, resetting the phone does not bring the shutter sound for the first shot back, neither on my 4s or 5s, both running 8.1.1 😟

So this must be software related or a new feature 😉

i dont have problem on 8.1.2 (iP5s). Looks fixed for me. But i am trying to kill not frequently used apps in multitasking. I think its releated to 3rd party installed app running in the background.

8.1.2 seems to have resolved this issue for me.

FWIW, I am using iOS 8.1.2 and have already reset the phone more than once. This issue persists for me.

Very annoying. I was pressing the shutter twice for awhile not realizing that the sound effect is broken. Hard reboot does nothing.

APPLE NEEDS TO FIX THIS! I can't understand why simple bugs get introduced into new iOS versions and Apple takes forever to address them.

I had the same problem.

I fixed it doing a setting reset.

Settings - General - Reset - Reset All Settings.

With this options you won't lose any data.

I have tried everything...hard reset, soft reset, reset all settings, turn on and off. The closest I get to fixing it is if I soft reset the shutter sound comes back for a random amount of time. 10-24 hours. I've seen and commented on other forums with people having the same problem with no fix. Just wondering, who here thinks it is hardware vs software? Reason I ask is because I would suspect there would be a lot more people complaining about it if affected every phone. Either that or they just never noticed it.
