Oct 23, 2014 9:07 AM in response to belsnerdby Lastminuteguy,No that is not possible, if you had a passcode you would have had to input the passcode on the screen when you choose to erase the iPhone, given that you erased it in the settings menu. If you've erased it in iTunes it could be that Find My iPhone was still active and then the buyer needs your Apple ID credentials.
A way to circumvent this issue is to login on www.icloud.com and erase/delete your iPhone from Find My iPhone. That way Find My iPhone will be disabled on that iPhone and the buyer can activate it during the initial setup.
