you are asking about. If the 'mouse image' means pointer or cursor, then
there may be a way to change its Size, but not directly in the OS X itself.
An older version of OnyX or Cocktail utility that allows certain modification
or changes to various aspects of the OS X (based on version, made for
use in each system; one version does not work for all) you could modify
the size of the Cursor or Mouse Pointer.
OnyX: makers site download page... read further in site before using

Third party modifiers to change the mouse pointer into something else
are no longer available for old vintage or obsolete Mac OS X systems.
Be wary of software downloads for system modifiers or promises of
free software (or even shareware, or odd retail) where you may be in
for bad reactions if these are doctored files not containing what you want.
I did a little look online in a few searches and notice some known purveyors
of questionable downloads offer by-name-only promises of software to do
this kind of task in general. However these have been known to contain
adware or malware that is hard to remove and does not aid in the function
of your computer system...
While I have an older OnyX version that offers a variety of system modifications
that require an admin password, and one of them does allow the Cursor or
Mouse Pointer to be made larger or smaller, I don't see a viable separate tool
or know the command line to use Console to attempt such a modification.
And to use OnyX may invite issues (when used improperly, for example) that
can be hard to repair. Be sure to make a backup external to your Mac when
you attempt anything, before a problem develops, as a matter of routine.
The same maker also offers Deeper. This can help find hidden settings in OS X
based on the version of OS X and the build version of Deeper... See those here:

In any event...
Good luck & happy computing!

Oct 27, 2014 11:21 PM in response to Bedrockbreakerby K Shaffer,There may also be another way to modify mouse & keyboard functions in another
System Preference panel, where you can turn on Mouse Keys: "Universal Access."
Don't remember if the name of this was changed in Leopard 10.5, from a different
one in Tiger 10.4. This is the panel you'd look into to find strange settings, such as
how to make the screen look like a chalkboard, or turn on disable helpful functions.
I try to not mess with this universal access panel, out of fear these would stick 'On.
