what is macinstaller??? should I delete it? How?

If it's something you downloaded and you don't know what it is, drag it to the Trash. If it's on a disk image, unmount the image and drag the disk image file to the Trash.
I got this same message prompt after upgrading from Yosemite (10.10.5), trying to go to El Capitan (10.11).
Strand, unfamiliar, and I sure don't trust it. No idea where it came from of it's legitimate. Can't find much about it.
Looks and acts like Malware. It appears to be titled "AppTS", yet it doesn't show up in the Activity monitor or task list (Shift-Tab).
