macbook a1278 no operating system
i have a late 2008 macbook a1278 with no operating system installed, can i boot/install os x from a flash drive and set my computer up that way?
There are a lot of MacBook Pro models which all have the A1278 designation. The earliest of which was released in 2009. Go to this page and enter the serial number to get the exact model. Then post back the page it returns. I only ask because the last model came with Snow Leopard 10.6.3, and if yours is really that model, it may not be able to boot to the retail 10.6.3 disk. Any older model, and you can purchase the retail Snow Leopard DVD from Apple for $20.
