IPhoto export 2 black photos in my slide show?

I can export the photos in JPG format OK. I forced a rebuilt of IPhoto library with no better result.

Its always the same 2 photos, one is 8.5M and the other is 13M.

Can anybody comment?

Thanks,

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10), IPhoto version 9.6

Try the following:

1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your

User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.

2 - delete the contents the following folder:

User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto

User uploaded file

3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.

NOTE: For Mavericks and Yosemite, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:

User uploaded file

where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

Thanks for the reply,

1- I dont have a IPhoto.plist file in ''PREFERENCES''. I have an Ilife.plist?

2- Your screen shot do not show-up in your latest reply. All I get is a rectangle with a question mark in the center.

3- The view option box pulls-up but I dont see a check box labelled "SHOW LIBRARY FOLDER".

4- I can export in standard size (480P) and see the 2 pictures but if I pick 1080P, I get black boxes (picture size).

Tanks again,

Normand, the forum software has been problematic for month, and screenshot do not show reliably. There is nothing we can do about it.

1- I dont have a IPhoto.plist file in ''PREFERENCES''. I have an Ilife.plist?

Have you really looked in the Preferences folder in your hidden User Library in your Home folder and not in the Library folder at the top level of your system drive? If iPhoto ever has been running there must be a fie

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iPhoto.plist

otherwise something is dreadfully wrong.

3- The view option box pulls-up but I dont see a check box labelled "SHOW LIBRARY FOLDER".

The checkbox is only available, if you are currently browsing your Home folder - the one with the cute house icon. No other folder can show the user library.

4- I can export in standard size (480P) and see the 2 pictures but if I pick 1080P, I get black boxes (picture size).

Can you edit these two photos? Perhaps the original files are missing. If you select one of the photos and use "File > Reveal in Finder > Original file" , doe sit work?

1- Exported the 2 pictures to the desktop.

2- opened each with preview, exported and renamed.

3- deleted the original and imported the renamed pictures in iPhoto.

4- Make a new slide show with the renamed pictures.

5- Exported the slide show. First photo remains black, second photo shows OK.

6- Exported again, all 2 photos are exported black?

I created a new account with a new password. Started iPhoto and there was no library available. Imported the 2 pictures from a memory stick to the empty desktop and imported the 2 picture into iPhoto. This created a new library. I then crated a new slide show with the 2 pictures.

1- The first export showed one picture out of two.

2- A second export showed none of the 2 pictures.

Here's your culprit. CMM2 is considered malware around here and does more harm than good. Uninstall it according to the developer's directions: How To Uninstall CleanMyMac 2? Complete Removal of ....

To verify that all of the files have been removed download and run Find Any File to search for any files with "the application's' name" and the "developer's name" in the file name. For example for CleanMyMac2 you'd do two searches:

1 - Name contains "cleanmymac2"

2 - Name contains "macpaw"

Any files that are found can be dragged from the search results window to the Desktop for deletion.

FAF can search areas that Spotlight can't like invisible folders, system folders and packages.

If you continue to have problems you might have to reinstall the system from the Recovery volume.
