Why are my text messages coming from my email not my phone number? How do I change this?

I dont know what I did but this never happened on my old iphone.

Thanks for the question. It sounds like your Apple ID is activated with iMessage and your “Start new conversations from” is set to your email address, instead of your phone number. To resolve this, simply navigate to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and configure the settings to start new conversations from your phone number.


Please note that the changes will take effect for new conversations, so you may wish to start new conversations with your contacts. For more information, check out the following resources:
