Q: Cannot post - User ' ' is banned from posting.

Here's a new one for me.

I've been registered with Apple discussions for probably a decade.

I'm subscribed and participating in a thread: sleep wake problem with Yosemite on my Mac Mini Mid 2012

I read the new posts, log-in, click reply to the original comment, type my text and I get a red error:

" User 'asfahan' is banned from posting content "

Figured it was a glitch. Refreshed. Tried again. Same error?!

So, what gives?

PS: Using latest Safari under Yosemite.

    Gday, mate!

good to be heard from... seems our little TINY bit of of slang swapping was the straw that broke the back of my camel.

You are doing what we all do - now that we know the real reason - ignore and press on  - JiveWare has developed a sense of humor with its growing intelligence.

    ÇÇÇ

Speaking of camels, remember the very FIRST CD-ROM interactive - created on a Mac - using that new-fangled thing called MacroMedia Director? From Alice to Ocean - the journey of one girl, Robyn Davidson, her dog & four camels from Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia to the West Coast - I remember being gobsmacked by Ayer's Rock - an asteroid? God's joke? As I recall, this title was a BIG DEAL at the WWDC in 1992 (or 93) with Steve introducing Rick Smolan, the photographer and interactive developer. It came as a coffee table book / CDROM combo. I still have 'em (they are still in print, BTW) and this NEW Technology inspired my career for the next 25 years!! == leading me to this very moment!

As usual Mr. Phelps, this message will self-destruct in 5 seconds.....

It would be a good thing to fix the reply log out issue. Never-the-less, I take breaks when reading the forums and it's still a hassle to be logged out.

Well Robert, mi amigo... it appears that reply-logout has indeed been fixed !! tt2's reply above is the best anecdotal proof, as it is his workaround for the general LoginTimeOut issue. I tested his method and it seems solid. To further prove it scientific-method-like, you could follow my steps in the reply to his post. -- best, ÇÇÇ

Morning CCC. I'm still getting timed out. Don't worry you didn't miss the memo. Stay well. Bob.

aloha bob. lest we forget the machine is aware of US - you and I in particular -- you being an iPad driver, your options for employing a reloader or tt2's open compose pane are less than limited. Will try to stay warm if not well - unusually cold on the mainland for this time of year. ÇÇÇ

On the positive side when the day comes when my memory fails I'll never forget my passcode.

Still happening in 2015... the disturbing part is it shows someone elses username, like my profile is hacked.

The problem comes and goes. Like now I am able to post correctly, but ten minutes ago, it was wrong username and said commenting was banned.

Apple is getting sloppy, the software has become bloatware runs slower than it did ten years ago.

Apple's forums are not powered by Apple software.

As stevejobsfan0123 sez.. Apple only made modifications (likely both 'normal' forum management 'choices' and collaborative AppleJive coding) to Social Business Software | Jive Software. I agree that these required "simplifications" may have "gummed up the works" a tad. Every new 'overhaul' presents new "interesting" results. It is what it is, I fear.
