I would like to return my Ipad 2 from IOS 8 to 7 is this possible?

    If you want to improve the performance of your iPad, then resetting it back to its factory default condition, using iTunes would be a good procedure to do. Be sure to do your backups ...

    Since Apple does not support downgrading the iOS I suggest you start a new question that gives a good title to a specific problem. Then in the body of the thread describe the problem in detail, tell us what steps you have tried so far to correct the problem, what happened, and what error messages you received.

    Specific problem is IOS 8 is unstable on iPad 2. Apps crash, tilt screen takes over 30 seconds to revolve. The operating system takes 12.9 meg of a supposely 16 meg ipad. In other words with 8.01 installed my iPad can only run 3 VERY SMALL APPS THEN ITS FULL. Apple really need to introduce a system where older 16meg ipad2 users can use this software upgrade, or allow a downgrade.

    Try resetting your iPad by holding the home and power keys down until the Apple logo appears.

     

    As an aside, I am running iOS 8.1 on an iPad 2 without any problem. I do not expect my 16 GB iPad to last forever or always run current software releases....

    You're right, it won't last forever. And what computer have you had that runs forever? Actually, my Mac 512K runs as good as it did when it was new (back in 1984) ... as long as it is running the software it originally came with. That first PageMaker program was amazing. That LaserWriter was "state of the art"! I thought I was in heaven when I had two floppy drives to run it. What a deal! But, it's all "relative".

     

    HECK, the iPad 2 could run all the computing power and requirements for the Apollo Moon shot, for the entire NASA space program back in 1969! But, even if the iPad 2 can do that, it is still going to be at "end of life" soon. It probably won't make the next cut for a system upgrade. I would actually advise everyone who owns one now to SELL THEM while it's still running a "current" iOS. As soon as it cannot run the current iOS any longer, the value will drop dramatically. You want to sell it right now, while you can command the highest sales value for that model!

    LOL ... you're hilarious if you expect someone to believe that iOS 8 takes up 12.9 GB of space ... :-) ...

     

    There is a system partition to the flash drive and that only takes up a few GB of space for the partition. And ALL the system files are in that partition! You plainly don't know what you're talking about.
