Where is the full list of CarPlay apps?

Any information about CoPilot navigation and CloudBeats Cloud music player support?

But not all of these have come out / been updated yet.

I use NAVIGON as map app. After contacting them they confirmed this :

A statement on Apple CarPlay: Since Apple’s announcement of CarPlay a lot of people are asking if and when our NAVIGON apps will support it. - We would love to, but unfortunately this is not possible at the moment as Apple currently doesn’t allow navigation apps to support this feature. As soon as Apple allows CarPlay support also for navigation apps we’ll immediately have a closer look into this.

Means Apple has to open CarPlay to others ... when apple will do? nobody knows ...

I'm using CarPlay with my PIONEER unit since 2 months now. I'm very confident with CarPlay, but there is only one thing I'm absolutely missing: NAVIGON

I've been using NAVIGON for more than 10 years now. First on PocketPCs and then on the iPhone. So it's Apples turn to allow other developers to access their CarPlay APIs.

So my question is: When will Apple do this? Is there already a date for the release of the APIs?

The current situation is a bit "Waiting for Godot". 😟

First I waited months for the Pioneer CarPlay update and now I'm waiting for Apps, knowing that the developers haven't even started, because the APIs are not public.

I haven't tested that, but the manual is not really clear on that point. When using CarPlay the iPhone must be attached to USB1 but I can't say if the iPod then still works on USB2.

For confirmation, I have an AR4 with an iPhone 6 all running current firmware. CarPlay is enabled and I can definitely plug my iPod into USB2 and it works. I have an old iPod Video 30GB, so the classic should work also.

I also WANT my Navigon through CarPlay!

Using two screens (Navigon on the phone and CarPlay on the radio) is possible but highly cumbersome (= dangerous). Navigon is always leaving the screen when you use CarPlay (to listen to a podcast, make a phone call...).

Apple can't decently force people to use Maps - the app is way behind Navigon in term of guidance (no signs, no alerts, etc.). Even less in Europe, where you can't use data when you drive to/in another country (huge roaming charges)!
