Hi, Toner, When I try to re-intall the mac, it says the u disk needs an GUID partition. So I tried to return to the disk utility. By accident, I open a window by clicking the " startup disk..." option in the apple icon on the top left of screen.

In the window, title is "choose startup disk", with only one choice of Macintosh HD OS X , 10.10. can I just choose the disk and click the " restarting ....."

I have tried, it not works.

let's begion with re-installing the mac os x on U disk

You do not have partition #3 in the MBR. You need to re-create a new Hybrid MBR.

Please notice the space between 2 and 3 in this line added to the hybrid MBR, in sequence: 2 3

Recovery/transformation command (? for help): h

WARNING! Hybrid MBRs are flaky and dangerous! If you decide not to use one,

just hit the Enter key at the below prompt and your MBR partition table will

be untouched.

Type from one to three GPT partition numbers, separated by spaces, to be

added to the hybrid MBR, in sequence: 2 3

Place EFI GPT (0xEE) partition first in MBR (good for GRUB)? (Y/N): y

Creating entry for GPT partition #2 (MBR partition #2)

Enter an MBR hex code (default AF): AC

Set the bootable flag? (Y/N): n

Creating entry for GPT partition #3 (MBR partition #3)

Enter an MBR hex code (default AB): 07

Set the bootable flag? (Y/N): y

Recovery/transformation command (? for help): w
