Nov 5, 2014 6:35 PM in response to gregt911by jameshaddock,I went thru all of this with 2nd level tech support early last week. Last Tuesday, they supposedly opened a ticket on my behalf with the engineering team. Late on Wednesday, I received a set of questions to answer for the engineering team. This mostly rehashed all the same information I had provided to tech support. I submitted my responses early last Thursday.
So supposedly engineering has already been working on this/my issue for a week. I wouldn't know since I haven't received any updates from Apple since submitting my responses last week. I didn't even get an acknowledgement from tech support that my responses were received. Suffice it to say I've certainly had more positive customer service experiences elsewhere.
Anyway, I plan to contact my 2nd level tech support person directly tomorrow to force the issue of getting some sort of an update. If I actually learn anything I'll of course keeps folks here updated with another post to the thread.

Nov 6, 2014 5:58 AM in response to coffy42by .netGuy,Just took delivery of 2, iPad Air 2 units, WiFi/4G, and have experienced the same issue on both right out of the box...AE4500. Is there any reason to believe that if I request these units be replaced, another pair will be any different? Have jumped through all the hoops viz-a-viz settings, resets, etc.

Nov 6, 2014 6:06 AM in response to .netGuyby DezM,It will not be any different. I own a Linksys EA4500 and Apple swapped my iPad Air2 for a new one. Same WiFi issues. This is definitely software related either in the new iOS or software in our routers.

Nov 6, 2014 6:19 AM in response to escrge1843by Hulalahifi,Maybe has something to do with the "ask to join network" in wifi setting, I turned it on and found my air 2 's wifi connection is faster and more stable now, it hasn't dropped connection so far. the setting was off before. Turning off the blue tooth seems to improve the speed as well.

Is there a consensus among community members as to what router I should go out and buy for rock-solid connectivity, great range, throughput, etc? -

Feedback is often full of long rants and I think the word gets to Apple far sooner through Customer Service, plus they might actually solve your problem.

EVen my 5 yr old Apple Extreme is working perfectly with my new I Pad.

I suspect that it's unlikely that Apple or LinkSys will resolve the issue in a timely manner; if at all. Since the router is a few years old I dont mind upgrading to gain faster wifi (ac Standard) along with stable iPad performance.
Based on a article in the October issue of MaximumPC titled, Budget ac Router Roundup, I've dedided to buy the TRENDnet Wireless AC1200 Dual Band Gigabit Router (TEC-813DRU). It's om Amazon for $78. Has anyone used this router with the iPad Air 2?

Use the Feedback form on this site and call Apple's Tech Support and notify them of this issue.
