Nov 7, 2014 1:32 AM in response to escrge1843by as41,Just to let you know I upgraded to the Asus RT-AC68U last weekend and have been running my Air 2, 6 Plus and 5S perfectly now for a week without any wifi Issues.
These are all on the 5Ghz network and working at full speed.

Nov 7, 2014 5:38 AM in response to ActIIIby tom_eastcoast,Should I tell the dealer that their router is the problem ?
If that was my dealer I would probably not say anything. I probably would just be curious what router that Dealer is using, an N router or an AC router.
I have an iPad2 and thinking of getting a new Air 2 for my wife, and I have an Asus RT-AC68U router and previous person with same router said his Air 2 wifi works with that router model. But that is for home use, what if my wife uses the Air 2 at Starbucks or the Library and has wifi dropping issues? I am naturally paranoid and my mind things only of the negatives lol.

Nov 7, 2014 6:44 PM in response to escrge1843by mroy1,I Just discovered that in addition to my iPad Air 2, I'm also experiencing the same wifi dropping issues with my iPhone 6. I replicated the issue by turning off the cellular data on my iPhone when I'm home. I suspect I didn't notice it before because if the iPhone looses the wifi connection it defaults back to cellular. This leads me to believe that the issue lies with ios.

Nov 7, 2014 6:53 PM in response to tom_eastcoastby DezM,But Tom, are you having issues with iOS 8.1 and your Asus RT-AC68U router?

Nov 7, 2014 6:54 PM in response to mroy1by DezM,Mroy1, it's definitely iOS 8 and higher. These issues aren't occurring in iO7 no matter what Apple device.

Nov 7, 2014 7:13 PM in response to Rlin5741by FXDLRIDERNY,I have done this, as well as EVERYTHING posted in this entire thread (lol, ok almost)... New Air 2, twice, and my Cisco (Linksys EA3500) router has 2.4 and 5.8....
Same problem with no internet after waking and toggling it on/off to fix it....
Linksys tech support had nothing to offer (and I'm still under warranty) except trying to have me pay $80.00 to some third part Mr. Fixit type of service.
It does appear here that this is Apple's problem, and I sure as heck hope it's not a problem with the Wifi card inside the device... lest a software fix won't do a thing.
Good to know I'm not alone.

Nov 8, 2014 12:02 PM in response to FXDLRIDERNYby Needledown,Just bought the iPad air 2 with cell service. My wifi connection like everyone *****.
after going through all your comments and trouble shooting my best option was to buy a new router.
this is for sure an apple problem but I just don't have the time to wait for them to fix.
the iPad doesn't play nice with older routers and older router technology.
the he router I installed had 3 SSID names for 2g 5g and the newest 5g
if I connect the ipd to the newest 5g I'm good to go
router bought net gear ac3200 nighthawk x6
hope this helps

Nov 8, 2014 1:20 PM in response to escrge1843by Alain1954,I had the same problem. Here is how I fixed it
Change your router 5Ghz band from auto mode to 802.11a only.
Reserve an IP for your iPad under DHCP Reservations of your router. You should be able to do that under Connectivity / Local Network
Fetch you mail manually as opposed to using Push
Good luck

Nov 8, 2014 2:58 PM in response to Alain1954by FXDLRIDERNY,Thank you very much for your advice.... I'm not quite sure I understand though since my router doesn't seem to have anything but "Auto", and "10MHz" in the Mode setting... I'll keep looking for it though!

Nov 8, 2014 5:19 PM in response to Alain1954by DezM,Alain, downgrading our routers isn't an attractive option with the much slower speeds.

Nov 8, 2014 11:26 PM in response to escrge1843by Xaeros,I think i found the solution that fixed the same problem for me (ipad air 2 wifi stops working after short period of time, turning on/off helps).
You will have to reserve a fixed IP address in router DHCP settings. This worked for me and i have no disconnect isssues for 12hrs.

Nov 9, 2014 12:54 AM in response to DezMby Hulalahifi,My iPad air also has iOS 8.1. but I think my iPad air 2 seems working better with my home 5G wifi network now, what I did is changing the wifi setting to enable the " ask to join networks" option and did a hard reset on my home wifi router (power off, unplug all cables/connections, power on, plug all cables/connections, reset). Another thing I did to make wrb web page load faster is to turn on the "do not track" setting in Safari.
