Oct 27, 2014 7:27 PM in response to fbossby JerryWest_44,fboss write, "Issue happens on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, and with several routers from Linksys. At least E4500, E4200v2, E3500, running in general the latest official firmware."
You can include Netgear WNDR3700 --- This a/b/g/n 2.4Ghz/5GHz router has been rock solid on my previous Ipad2 but spotty at best with the Ipad Air 2 -- when connected it's fast but when spotty the download speeds are very low -- it takes hard reset to get the Ipad Air 2 to respond.

Oct 27, 2014 8:16 PM in response to JerryWest_44by Rlin5741,My my latest is that I was connected at work without issue all day. Despite that, I went to Apple to exchange it for a new one, hoping that perhaps I got. Dud. Within 90 minutes in my home ea4500 router, I lost connection. In fact, I lost connection while browsing a few minutes after my initial lost connection. Hopefully this is not a portent of this unit being worse than the one I exchanged!
Will attempt some more troubleshooting later.

Oct 27, 2014 9:22 PM in response to Rlin5741by MrMagoo14,We have an appointment at an Apple Store tomorrow to run diagnostics on both of the Air 2's that fail to remain connected to our wifi. We have 2 IPad Mimi 2's, both updated to the latest OS that connect perfectly, in addition to an IPad 4, IPhone 5s, Apple TV, 3 Android tablets, an HP laptop and a Galaxy 4s phone, all of which connect and stay connected flawlessly. Clearly, this is an Air 2 problem and is unrelated to our router.

Oct 27, 2014 9:27 PM in response to MrMagoo14by fboss,It will probably run fine with the router in the store, it's well tested with the demo units.
You can tell them there is a long list of people with the same issue, using other routers ... don't know what is the best way to inform them about this bug.

Oct 27, 2014 9:31 PM in response to JerryWest_44by fboss,The issue with the Netgear WNDR3700 may be different,
With the Linksys, we lose the connection, there is no data transferred (but the Wifi icon says it's still connected). There is no need to do a full iPad reset, we have to toggle the wifi on/off and data comes back.
JerryWest_44, have you tried to re-enable the data without a full reset ?

I just tired disabling/enabling wifi (via the button) and it didnt work after my wifi went south to a crawl -- only a hard-reset brought the wifi back.

Oct 27, 2014 11:37 PM in response to JerryWest_44by Rlin5741,So - what I see so far is:
Wifi Connected, Internet Drops, Reconnect on Wifi On/Off Cycle:
- Linksys EA4500 (5GHz, maybe 2GHz - test pending)
- Linksys EA4200v2 (2GHz and 5GHz)
- Linksys EA3500 (2GHz and 5GHz)
Wifi Disconnects, Requires reboot
- Netgear WNDR3700
Works OK:
- Airport Extreme (unsure which band, and YMMV as some people report not working)
- D-Link DIR-855L

Oct 27, 2014 11:39 PM in response to MrMagoo14by Rlin5741,Perhaps the best way is to point them to this thread. I am trying to consolidate a list of routers that do not work work, in order to hopefully get some good troubleshooting data.
Refer apple to this thread

Oct 28, 2014 6:16 AM in response to escrge1843by Rlin5741,Has anyone with the "Wifi connected but no internet" version of this issue tried to do a full reset without restoring from a backup? That is something I have not done, as it is a huge pain getting all my apps re downloaded and the screens and folder set up correctly again.

Oct 28, 2014 6:36 AM in response to Rlin5741by MiamiBourne,I've done a full restore as new and used it like this and still had the issue...new iPad 2 Air. I mean it's a brand new product and out the box it's had issues. I was doubtful that restore as new would help. It looks like I'll just be returning my iPad and just wait until this is fixed.
