Q: Battery indication on iPhone with ReSound LINX and ENZO HAs

Battery level is apparently indicated in two ways on a paired iPhone:

1. Accessibility window (triple click the home button)

2. ReSound SMART app

I have only been using my Enzo 9 for nine days, and they have the big 675 size battery, but both methods still show 100%, so I suspect the above methods do not work.

What are others experience?

Thanks

Likewise both give spurious battery indications. Assuming that these are bar graphs of remaining battery life, they are either always full, or at zero indicating no connection. In addition the native accessibility app gives bizarre info. At this moment is says "Right battery low for 48 hours, 30 minu." *** does that mean? Usually it says something equally obtuse about the left but today.... zilch. This with 8.1 and latest Resound app (updated yesterday)

Hi mikebhm. You are correct, you can find the battery life by going to Settings > General > Accessibility > Hearing Aids menu, select the circled “i” and arrow to show your hearing instruments. Once in this screen, you can see the left and right side indicators and current battery status indicator for the respective side. The battery level indicator gives an indication of whether the ReSound ENZO has enough power for operation (either full strength or midway through battery life) or if it is at low battery level and wireless operation is close to interruption. It won’t indicate a specific percentage as you see with your iPhone battery status. You can also access the battery life indicator through the ReSound Smart app on the menu page. If you still have questions, you can always call our consumer support line at (888) 735-4327 and someone can help you at your convenience.

    Hello gnresound,

Good to see your participation here, but slightly puzzled by your response, which repeated exactly what I said about how battery state is indicated in two places, but did not address my main point, which is that neither indication actually works. I have not seen anything except completely full battery state in four weeks of usage.

Are any other Enzo (or Linx) users actually seeing correct battery indication?

Hi mikebhm, the battery indicator shows when your battery is either at full strength or midway through battery life, it doesn’t decrease gradually like your iPhone battery status does – which is why we thought you might only have seen it at 100%. However, we are surprised to hear that you haven’t seen it change in 4 weeks of wear. Do you typically change your batteries before they’ve fully drained? We haven’t heard of other users experiencing this problem, but you might want to call our consumer support line to see if there is something unique in your situation specifically. They can be reached at (888) 735-4327 or consumerhelp@gnresound.com.

The longest I have used the same set of batteries is two weeks. At that point I changed them because I had lost connection with iPhone, and changed the batteries as a last resort, which worked. I was able to reconnect after changing the batteries.

At the point where I changed them the hearing aids were working fine (apart from not connecting to the iPhone) and the battery indication was 100% (full bars) in both the Smart app, and the accessibility screen. I had not received any low battery warning sounds.

As these are very new to me I have no idea what battery life to expect, using them 18 hrs a day. On the one hand bluetooth will drain the battery more than normal HAs, but the large 675 battery size is bigger than other aids I have had.

In any case it looks like the first thing to suffer from low battery is bluetooth connectivity, not loss of function as aids. Maybe if I had carried on using them beyond two weeks (with no connectivity) I would have seen the indicators drop below the 100% (full bar) state and heard a low battery warning.

What battery life would ReSound predict for Enzo 9 being used 18 hours a day with bluetooth connection?

    Thanks

In clinical trials with ReSound ENZO, participants reported 11 to 15 days of battery life with 15-18 hours of wear time per day and up to 3 hours of streaming per day. When you are streaming, battery drain will be 3 to 4 times higher than when you are not streaming. Additionally, the way ReSound ENZO hearing aids are programmed (for each unique hearing loss) could also factor into the battery life that you experience.

    Thanks very much.

So I should have seen some reduction from 100% (full bars) after two weeks. I will make sure to watch carefully what happens with the current set. In particular whether pairing/connection problems start happening after a similar time.

when I get the low battery tone on my HA's the Smart App indicator still shows full

the Battery button in the app does nothing when touched
