Capture NX2 continuously becomes unresponsive

Every time I try to open more than a single file, the program becomes unresponsive. This only happens since updating to Yosemite. Any idea why this is happening? I saved the error report.

No, I have not found any solution.


While Capture NX 2 will become unresponsive and freezes whenever a few images are open (I opened them concurrently for comparisons), I've just discovered that my Photoshop CS6 is behaving likewise when I put it through certain task (e.g. adaptive wide angle filter). Although it doesn't show as "unresponsive" because I could "move the cursor around", I cannot perform/click any function.

Hi,


I don't know if you was able to solve this problem, but I had exactly the same problem.


I came to the point that I installed Capture NXD to give that a try.

From out NXD I opened the NEF image in NX2 without problem.

From that point forward, all NEFs do open and edit without problems in NX2.


Likely NXD did installed / Replaced /removed something that was preventing NX2 to work properly?

Installed Capture NX-D; didn't help NX2. Infact, Capture NX-D, like NX2, occasionally gives me (either on opening or on doing edits) the spinning beachball too!


Kind of gave up. What I do now is I try to save every step (edit) of my action and just kill the application and relaunch whenever it gets unresponsive.


No problems whatsoever with Adobe CS6, Lightroom 5, etc.

I am running OS X Yosemite 10.10.4 on a 2014 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro [8GB Ram].

The software concerned is the Nikon Capture NX2 2.4.7 released in January 2015 with Yosemite support.
