Photo quality lost on iCloud.com, why?

Hello,

I have activated the photo synchronisation on my iphone (with iOS8.1). My photos are correctly present on iCloud.com but the quality is reduced versus my photos on my iphone (I checked that by sending the photo by email in full quality). Why my photos on iCloud.com are not in full quality?? The aim for me is to save my photos in the best quality and optimized the photos quality on my iphone... it is not the case..!?

Thanks for your answers,

Paul

Same problem here. I was very happy that I've managed to free about 3 gigabytes of storage on my device by uploading and optimizing videos and photos to iCloud Photo Beta but the problem is that I cannot download the photos and videos from iCloud at native resolution. All I get is 1280 videos and 3MP photos.

Also I've noticed that some of the latest videos and photos on my device are still with native resolution and quality.

I will report a bug to apple with that issue.

Hi,

After verfication, I can confirm that the photos & videos are in full quality on icloud. I verified that by downloading my photos on my iPad under iOS 8.1 too... (Photos taken at the beginning with my iphone)

So my conclusion, the photos & videos on iCloud.com are optimized for the web and in order to get our photos & videos un full quality I assume that it will be possible with the new Photo software (which will remplace iPhoto). it is the only explanation for me!

Bye

Chris have you read my reply or no?? Stay calm, it's no my fault if you didn't understand.

The photos and videos are in full quality in your iCloud space but the photos and videos when you go on the page iCloud.com are optimized for the web! Do you understand or no?

I think in order to get (download) your photos & videos in full quality you have to used iPhoto or the new Photo (available in early 2015).

Ok for you?

Are people still having this problem with icloud.com? Or is it just me?

- I own an iPhone 5s, but no other computer/device

- wanted to save space so I

- enabled iCloud Photo Library

- had "Optimize Phone Storage" checked during upload process

- midway through upload, I checked "Download and Keep Originals" instead

- or vice versa; I honestly don't remember

- either way, now "Download and Keep Originals" is checked

- go to icloud.com

- it appears that all my photos and videos from my Photos app are backed up onto icloud.com. yay.

- click any random photo: photo opens slowly, blurry at first, after 15 seconds or so it appears in full resolution

- click any random video: video opens slowly, blurry at first, after 15 seconds or so it (the first frame) appears in full resolution. click play. loads for 2-3 seconds. then video plays in degraded quality.

- some of the videos don't even show a hi-res first frame

What is the deal with this? I just want to delete these photos and videos off of my iPhone to free up space. And I'm not comfortable doing that until I'm certain that a full resolution copy exists in the cloud (i.e. on icloud.com).

P.S. When I go to icloud.com, all my photos and videos I uploaded are in the Photos tab. But when i click the tab labeled "iCloud Drive", I'm told that mine is empty. What the **** is an iCloud Drive? I thought that was another term for the cloud. Sorry if that is a stupid assumption.

Thank you to anyone who bothers to read this!
