Q: obly warning beeps after music loaded

In Final Cut Express 4.0.1 I loaded a music clip from a CD into a film and it won't play. All I get is a repeated waring beep. A vertical "temperature type"  scale appeared which seemed to be in the red area but reducing the gain did not help.In the meantime I closed the scale window and don't know how to find it again.

    Select the music clip on the timeline by clicking on it. Once it is selected, type Command + R to render the music clip.

    To restore you window layout for FCE, either go to the menu Window > Arrange > Standard or type Control + U.
