ipad air 2 sim card

Bought an iPad Air 2, 128GB to provision with Sprint today. Can't activate it and SIM card totally changes the features listed under "General""About" screen: Network name is missing on first line (logical since sim card makes multi-network choices), Carrier no longer is specific (my iPad 3 says Sprint on carrier line, the Air 2 just says Ipad 18.0, and most worrisome there is no ICCID code so how in the world do you activate the device online at Sprint? I found a code on the sim card itself but Sprint says it is not a valid ICCID code! Anyone figured this out yet?

There is an easy, though aggravating solution. According to the Sprint "live chat" I just concluded, I have to replace my SIM card with one of Sprint's by going to one of their stores. Would have been nice if their website had said that up front, instead of first asking me for the IMEI/MEID number, which nicely brought my new device, then for an ICCID code that is neither on the box, on the SIM card that came with, nor at Settings > General > About. At this point, would it be so hard for Sprint to note that new iPad owners have to go to a Sprint store to swap out the SIM card, or am I the only other Sprint customer with an iPad besides my two other comrades in frustration on this page . . . hmmm???

I had the same issue, spent 4 hours with Apple tech support and Sprint getting nowhere, until I found someone at the Apple Store who knew what to do.

Step 1: sign up for cellular service on the iPad. just sign up for the cheapest service offered; you will change it later. Once signup is complete you will see the CSN number on the About screen change to an ICCID number.

Step 2: call Sprint and have them move the iPad from the plan you signed up for in Step 1 to the plan you actually want.

What wasted so much time for me was that Apple originally told me to call Sprint instead of signing up on the iPad; bad idea. Sprint had no idea what to do.

Good luck!
