Not responding processes in Actvity Monitor: callservicesd, coreaudiod, com.apple.geod, identityservicesd, and icloud helper

whenever I open Activity Monitor in Yosemite release version, there are three services that are maked red as not responding. They are callservicesd, coreaudiod, and com.apple.geod, icloud helper, and identityservicesd. I have yosemite on my system. It has been upgraded from Mavericks 10.9.5

calling from Mac via iPhone to another phone work fine. I can also log in to iCloud from System Preferences and manage my account. No other malfunction seen other than these not responding services in Activity Monitor
What are they? And what go wrong?
I have just filed BR and this problem is also reported here http://www.drwingnut.info/?p=13805
Any comment and fis please

Not responding processes come back again even after deleting com.apple.geo.plist and many midi device. Seems that Apple has to sort out this bugs for all of us. I will keep my finger cross.

my complain is every year Apple come up with new version of OSX and so many bugs and problems are there. Will Apple slow down and get to rock solid OSZ as before? Do we need a new OS version evert year for the sake of having one will full of bugs?

Cubelibre,

In my case, with yosemite 10.10.1, I disabled the iPhone Cellular Calls option in FaceTime Preferences on my iMac. This action eliminated the problems with callservicesd, coreaudiod, and identitysericesd not responding. The com.apple.geod is still not responding. I never had an issue with iCloud helper.

Perhaps someone can confirm that turning off iPhone Cellular Calls option in FaceTime Preferences solves the problem with the three daemons that I mentioned. I'm still trying to find an answer for the com.apple.geod daemon not responding.

I read this.. and it helped.. kind of. The blog posting: http://nisalm21.wordpress.com/2014/10/31/mac-os-x-yosemite-handy-tips/

Said to do the following:

Solution for heavy RAM usage and non-responding services

  1. Find Digidesign CoreAudio.plugin in the following path : /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/HAL
  2. Delete the plug-in and remove it from the trash.
  3. Reboot the system.

I didn't have a Digidesign CoreAudio plugin.. but I DID have a program called "Hear" installed.

After uninstalling and restarting the computer coreaudiod was no longer in a "stopped responding" state.

The only OTHER process stuck in "Not Responding" is com.apple.geod - now I just have to figure out what's messing with that and remove it.

Suggestions?

These instructions are good for what ever plugin you are using.
