iphone 6 water damage flickering screen

My iphone 6 vibrated off the edge of my counter when someone called me and into the dogs water dish on the ground below. It sat in the water for 45 minutes, until I noticed it. It was still turned on so I shut down all the apps and i turned it off immediately. Wiped down and took it to my nearest apple store where they took the phone apart and said it was covered in liquid and tried to sell me a new iphone6 for $299. I came home and let it sit in a bag of rice for 48 hours. I just took it out of the rice now and turned it on. To my joy everything seemed to be working as usual but the screen seemed to have a haze and cloudy appearance. Up pops my home screen and it is very hard to see the screen and it is flickering and flashing. I freaked out and turned the phone off and put it right back in the rice. Does anyone have any helpful tips on what I could possibly do if I let the phone sit in the rice for another 48 hours and I turn the phone on, and it still is flickering screen? Is the screen able to be fixed? Everything seemed to be working beautifully except that flashing, hazy screen. Any help/tips are GREATLY appreciated. Thank you in advance 🙂

Try using a hairdryer. Put it on full power and try to get it in any small holes or creases and other openings in the phone. Leave it in the sun for 4 hours after this.

DO NOT use a hair dryer. It can force water deeper into the phone, exacerbating the damage.

Turn the phone off. Put the phone into a container of uncooked rice for 4-5 days. Once it is as dry as it's going to get, plug it in, charge it, turn it on and assess the damage.

Forty-eight hours is not really enough time to let it dry properly. Turning it own might have done more damage. It should be noted that, even if you leave the phone in rice for a week, there's no guarantee that it will ever work properly again. At this point, your best bet is to go back and get the out-of-warranty replacement.
