Q: My ipad is out of memory due to IOS8

Ok, I have the ipad with Retina display and mistakenly downloaded IOS8 even though it took a ton of memory. But it seems to be growing in memory. My ipad constantly keeps saying almost full and even when I delete stuff it still shows 0 bytes available. It SUCK!! I have hardly any apps on there and it won't work. I have the 16gb iPad and on Itunes it says I am at the following

8.90gb - OTHER - Which was from IOS8

259mb - Documents & Date

2.95gb - Apps - 10 Apps Total

89.3mb - Photos

48.4mb - Audio

I just want to use my iPad. Can I reset it or something?

iPad 2, iOS 8.0.2

Yeah, reset it to factory default with iTunes, but make sure to do your backups, iTunes preferred in order to save photos. The last link given below is for the reset to factory default, while the others are for your backups.

Glad to help. I'm working on another issue with iOS 8.1 and photos and the backups. I'll mention it here although I don't have the full answer yet from Apple. I noticed that once the iCloud Photo Library is activated on your device that the iCloud Backup no longer includes the photos in it. In other words, your iCloud Backup will no longer backup your photos! Now, normally, that would be okay if the iCloud Photo Library was a finished product and released in its final form. The problem is ... iCloud Photo Library is a beta service right now, meaning that you cannot trust or depend on it. And thus, essentially, your photos are NOT protected at this point in time, with either iCloud Backup or ICloud Photo Library.

I happen to have an alternate backup outside of the Apple system, so I'm covered, but a lot of other people are covered if something were to go wrong today, with their iOS device and all the pictures disappeared. So, I would advise all users to get an alternate backup for their photos until iCloud Photo Library is out of beta and in its final release form.
