iPad air 2 pop noise

My iPad Air 2 randomly has a "Pop Noise" out of the speaker. it happens randomly about once or twice a day when touching the screen or pressing a button. Has anybody else experienced this issue? Could it be a software issue or has it more likely to do with the hardware?

I have the same problem. Here on this site there are so many complaints about this issue and at Berlin Apple shop they say "never heard of it."

The typing sound is screamingly loud and not adjustable. After reset its ok but the problem comes back after some days. Now did a total reset with new firmware download. We will see if this expensive piece of junk will become a multi billion dollar recall issue for Apple like the 128GB Applle 6plus phones...

Apple acts as if this is not happening but it is all over the world thousands of iPad Air 2's around the left side middle of the iPad Air 2 it pops. it is random, but it happens sometimes frequently sometimes it will be days but it does it. When you call AppleCare they think you are crazy. Returned mine three times and they act as if it is not happening. So please use the link or any Apple product feed back and let them know about it.

PLease report any snap, pop, crack sound that is simply randomly coming from your iPad Air 2 to: http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

I Have this issue as well. I can often get the iPad Air 2 to make the loud popping sound after being in a game then going out and into email.

And if there is a new message to download and email tries to play a beep just as email opens it will make a pop sound.

I went to the trouble of opening a case but Apple are refusing to acknowledge that this is a problem. I purchased two iPad Air 2s, one for myself and one for my wife. Both have this annoying loud popping sound.

Apple support seems locked into following scripted answers and wants me to erase and set up the iPads as new. Um, hello Apple, they are brand new and both do it.

So disapointing that they won't respond or acknowledge this as a real issue.

Exchanging it does not always seem to help as new ones sometimes do it too, although there have been some that seem to have got one that didnt pop.

I Would exchange it. In addition go to this site and report the issue. http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

Also it is important to report it but please stop posting this every other post as it's going to come across as spam and get the thread locked. You have said it in 6 posts on this page alone...

Okay... But keeping a $500.00 defective device is not good advice either. I have returned mine and received a device that does not make the noise. It has a different batch serial number as well, and I had an oppertunity to talk with the manager, which was very constructive. Talking to a tech with Apple Support also is helpfull because they log problems, which helps Apple engineers. In addition, they ran a diagnostic on both of my devices which helps the Apple engineers to determine how to fix the issue. This was far more productive than telling someone to do nothing. But thank you for your advise and I will stop. Have a nice day and peace.

I Didn't say keep it, more like return it for a refund if they can't give you one that does not pop, which is what I had to do.

i didn't say to do nothing either. Nor did I say not to talk to apple, on the contrary I did say to talk to them and report it as I did when I returned mine. What I said not to do was post every other message the link to the Apple feedback page and tell people to leave feedback. In case you misunderstood, its good to let Apple know since enough people complaining about the same issue and returning for that reason will allow Apple to find the problem and fix it.

OK thank you for your advice and peace. I accidently posted saved replys... It will not happen again. In addition to that I replied to another person the same thing because... Well... It is true and helpful. It is better than beating a dead horse.

Apple put out a bad batch of first run iPads and people are a little bit upset because it costs a lot of money, a lot of time, and a lot of other things that we just don't know and the best advice is for people to do exactly as you did. That is why I am glad you returned your iPad Air 2 and got your money back. I am also happy that you reported it to the proper channels. All of that is good. There will probably be a fix very soon! I wish you nothing but a sccessful and happy life. Thanks again for your help...

Apple has great designs that have hardware issues from time to time.

I base this on my experience with several 'Book' devices I've owned though the years as compared to a couple thousand mostly Dell machines I've been responsible for over the years.

And Apple has always fixed them, even if not as speedily as I would have liked sometimes.

I'm going to hold off replacing my Air 2 for a bit and see what Apple comes up with, the snap is annoying but not fatally so in the short term.
