Mar 22, 2015 11:57 AM in response to toninog3by EhsanGL,I also tried to turn off the Wifi whenever I don't need it. I also don't play games too much. Maybe it's related to Wifi or battery heat? Maybe updating and erasing data has solved my problem? ( and it required some time to solve the issue). Whatever it was I havn't heard it for 1 week.

Mar 22, 2015 4:50 PM in response to Garth1988by MsPeanut,Hello Ipad Air2 users! After my iPad 2 became near useless from the software update of 8.1, I finally caved in and purchased the brand new Air2 yesterday at my local Apple Store.
Got it home and felt immediately that things were not fantastic as I had expected for all the money I plunked down.
First of all, I noticed this POPPING sound as you are all commenting on.
I knew it was not good.
Secondly, pages were reloading as they were on my older ipad2 after that software update. Thirdly, on certain sites, pages were loading very slow...especially with the scroll.
Honestly, I have lost so much faith in Apple right now due to these issues that all seemed to start after the operating system changed.
I just wanted to report that I returned my iPad for a full refund and will not be buying another one until things have been fixed, be it hardware or software.
So far I have had to replace my iphone for similar issues and I refuse to keep buying faulty devices.
This sort of thing happened when I bought my iMac a few years ago. I went through 3 in one week. All had loud sounds coming from the back and all were overheating. I finally had to spend a fortune to special order one without moving parts.
To this day, the unit still overheats, and the screen has been replaced twice with strange cloudy issues.
I am so over Apple at this point. Sadly I can not see myself going back to the PC world and so I feel as though I am trapped and unhappy.

Mar 23, 2015 1:57 AM in response to MsPeanutby Joysrus,It is weird that the new Ipad with 2GB memory scrolls worse than before. The only help is to shut it down and start it new but this is not a solution for high priced garbage.
JOBS, wish you were here...

Mar 25, 2015 9:06 AM in response to Garth1988by gregaus,I'd like to add my own voice to the many others having this problem. I am too with my brand new iPad Air 2 64gb cellular. It first happened within minutes of completing my restore from backup and probably 7-10 times since over 2 days. The pop or click sound is quite loud and happens randomly. I've booked in an apple genius session so I'll see what happens. But definitely an odd problem. I've owned every model of iPad and never had such an issue.

I realize that you stated that it occurs randomly but you might wish to play with it for a while to determine if there is a pattern. That will assist you when talking to the "Genius." There's nothing worse than being unable to reproduce a problem when in the presence of the individual that fixes problems.

Mar 25, 2015 9:15 AM in response to Philly_Phanby gregaus,I've read just about very post on this thread. There is no pattern. Happens randomly when using it normally. I doubt I'll be able to recreate it in front of apple but as it's clearly a well known problem, I'm sure they'll know about it when I go in and know what to do.

Mar 25, 2015 9:33 AM in response to gregausby Joysrus,On my Ipads I could reproduce the problem by shutting it down and restarting it or by a reset (holding down the on/off button and home button until the apple logo appears). Sometimes it took several tries to get at it. Check the sound adjustment after every new start. I had no clicking sound at all or the loud crack.

It's pretty random and you may not found easy to recreate it, also because of the noise at Apple Stores.

Mar 25, 2015 11:35 AM in response to psikofunksterby toninog3,well, to reproduce the noise you have to leave the iPad for while and then after you unlock the scree try to type quickly in search bar or safari bar and will pop up that noise
I did try few things to reduce this issue and have some luck however didn't fix it but now pops up far less then before.
TO do this :
go to Settings/ Music/ EQ -then switch it off. If you leave EQ on "Late Night" you will get a lot of this annoying pops up, Jazz settings also does it, Bass booster is ok and with Switched off no pops for two days now.
Everyone who hasn't try this yet, Please try it and report if any luck.
Regards

Mar 25, 2015 12:11 PM in response to gregausby ToastyFlake,There is a pattern of people who have observed that actions that activate the keyboard, with the keyboard click sound on, will cause the pop sound, like in this video: https://youtu.be/s0oeJpkCSzE If you have the popping problem, you will likely be able to recreate it by doing this action or some variation that repeatedly activates and deactivates the keyboard while you have the keyboard click sound on.
