Did you upgrade to ios 8.3?
I asked the same question, but was told my post was of no help whatsoever. Go figure.

Apr 26, 2015 5:18 PM in response to rbrylawskiby ToastyFlake,Yeah, the screenshot that he replied to your comment with would indicate he did not update to iOS 8.3. That is the screen prompting him to update. Had he updated it should have said:
iOS 8.3
Your software is up to date.

I thought the same, proving that rbrylawski's advice was good. Who knows why he thought otherwise?

Apr 29, 2015 3:43 PM in response to Garth1988by RobS10,After watching this thread for months, I was only a little surprised to see this...

Yeah, new products are bound to have a few problems, but you'd think with the prices Apple charges, the perfect image they try to portray, they'd make sure things go out well vetted.

Apr 29, 2015 8:18 PM in response to RobS10by Tallaron,This slowed down the making of the watches....from what I read these bad taptics weren't released and is the reason for the shortage.

For many, yes. It's been almost a month here on 8.3 and no popping.

May 8, 2015 7:14 AM in response to 2012FitFanby Tallaron,Wait till it gets cold again in your area...your popping will come back. There is more static in cold weather. Mine stopped popping also, I live in Iowa.

My brother had popping in 95 degree temps in South Florida. He lives their year round. Since 8.3, no pops for him. Plus, he and I could replicate the pop exactly the same way. We can no longer do that. He hasn't heard a pop in a month and believe me, it's consistently warm/hot down there. His and my issue are solved.
Maybe yours is hardware? Has it popped on 8.3? Sure it was still relatively cold there in early April.

May 8, 2015 8:44 AM in response to 2012FitFanby Tallaron,Mine stopped before 8.3...when it warmed up. I'm on my 4th ipad air 2. Hopefully its fixed...i just find it hard to see how a software update can fix what seems to be a static pop.

May 8, 2015 2:48 PM in response to Garth1988by loox,HI there.
Mine does it occasionally. Once every few weeks, but when mine does it my speaker stops working. I have to reboot the iPad to get my speaker working again. It has to be static discharge.
Additionally my noise is very similar to the pop sound I hear in those YouTube videos posted on this thread, but more loud, more drawn out, and more like a zap. "ZZZZZT!" And the speaker goes out. Makes me jump!!
IPad Air 2. I've had it for 6 months from best buy and should probably return it soon so I'm not stuck with it after a year is up.
IS my problem software, you think? Or hardware? It just happened and I'm on 8.3 for over a week.

All I can repeat is that I had exactly the same problem and updating to 8.3 cured it completely (so far!) I didn't believe it was a software problem as it sounded too much like a hardware thing, but it hasn't done it again since 8.3, whereas it did it pretty much all the time before that. Maybe backing it up, clearing it down and re-installing 8.3 might help?
Good luck.
