Nov 18, 2014 9:04 AM in response to NOYB234by Mr. Fazookus,Actually I was thinking the zapping might be more pronounced because of static buildup from low humidity. I know I got zapped this morning when I touched the light switch :D

Nov 18, 2014 1:03 PM in response to NOYB234by TacticalTimbo,I spoke to Apple last night about the issue, the rep I spoke to said it was the first he'd heard of it, and that it wasn't on the radar. I spoke to the retailer (I won't name them) that I bought it from tonight, and the rep I spoke to hadn't heard about it either. However she then spoke to an advisor, and immediately the response came back that it was an issue Apple knew about, and that the advice was to offer a refund or replacement...

Nov 18, 2014 1:54 PM in response to TacticalTimboby gwrx,With so many of us unable to return or exchange for this issue, We must find a way to force Apple to acknowledge this issue or we are going to be stuck with this issue.

Nov 18, 2014 3:15 PM in response to gwrxby Mr. Fazookus,I don't think I've seen anybody who was unable to return or exchange one of the affected devices, what am I missing?
A class action suit would take forever and most of the money, if any, would go to the lawyers anyway.
The things have been on the market for less than a month, I don't think we need to panic just yet.

Nov 18, 2014 3:51 PM in response to Garth1988by stumped127,Apple is aware of this issue. I've talked to an iOS Senior Technical Advisor at length, and made him aware of the situation, and of these forum posts. He suggested that people experiencing this problem CALL Apple and detail your problem(s). The more responses they get, the higher this will get escalated.

Nov 18, 2014 3:52 PM in response to corneredcatby NOYB234,Corneredcat, AFter 14 days they usually take your iPad try to fix it then if they cannot they give you a like new replacement.
i have not used any 'sound' feature and i get the snap sound no matter what im in..safari..notes..settings..all notifications are off and sound is on mute....first time it happened ipad air2 was in standby/not in use...just sitting on the sofa next to me. so im convinced its a hardware problem. and i also assume people's replacements are from the initial manufacturing runs. therefore im waiting awhile before i go for a replacement.
we may be outside the 14 day refund but wouldn't the warranty cover replacements?

Nov 18, 2014 4:06 PM in response to stumped127by NOYB234,Apple has been aware of the issue... They have for some time. I returned two. My friend returned his to the same genious bar employee that I did on the same day as well and they said it was the first they have heard of it. Just as they told me. It is the fourth quarter and Apple is not going to come out and say there might be an arching issue with our Flag Ship iPad Air 2. In addition, do a benchmark on your iPad and see what your score is compaired to the average. Geekbench has an app and so does Performance Test. It will test your device and give you information on what version you own as well. There are two out there iPad Air5,3 & iPad Air5,4. I have an iPad Air5,3 And all my scores were in line with the averages from both services.

Nov 18, 2014 4:13 PM in response to NOYB234by NOYB234,What concerns me is i have replaced two and right now there is no problems but from some of thposts in here I read that some went a week or so before the iPad starting crackling again. I use both my MBA and iPad for work. I am on both all day all the time and so far my third pad seems to be working okay. My son uses his for college and his third one has not acted up yet. We are probably going to return them for a refund and wait until Apple makes the changes. This post is getting a lot of views and Apple is acting like this is not an issue so i really do not see a fix until after January.

Nov 19, 2014 1:55 AM in response to Garth1988by Endpoint101,Bought my first Apple product yesterday.. iPad Air 2 64Gb Wifi & I'm getting this problem too. Happened at least twice in an hour. Rebooted and haven't heard it since, but I've not used it as much - I'll play with it more tonight. I'm running 8.1.1. It would be a real pain/shame to have to return it & not know whether the replacement solves the issue!
