Dec 20, 2014 6:51 AM in response to Alphacattby rbrylawski,Having been on these parts for a long time now, I find it pretty common for people to wonder "when" Apple will acknowledge a problem with something. The reality is that it's certainly possible, even likely some engineers from Apple have popped in here and read some the posts. And many of you have either called Apple, or taken your device to Apple with this issue. So yes of course Apple knows. They just have a storied history of not acknowledging any issues and for those of you who are waiting for an announcement from Apple that there is an issue (one that certainly doesn't happen on all units to begin with) you'll be waiting a loooooooooong time. But, that doesn't mean Apple isn't listening. They're just working behind the scenes on solutions.
That said, having read every post in this thread, I still think the issue isn't that widespread and one that seems more hardware than software. And one that should just be exchanged at your Apple Store so you can get a unit that doesn't exhibit the popping noise.

Dec 20, 2014 8:31 AM in response to rbrylawskiby Alphacatt,I Could not agree more. Dont wait take it back several people have been saying this and they get crucified for it. It is not going to just suddenly get better it is not a cold. I took three of them back. Yes i am waiting but that is my choice. Do not wait if you bought it after nov1st u have until January 8th to return it. My friends is a dream to use fast and and smooth. The new glare reduction screen is awesome.

Dec 20, 2014 9:03 AM in response to Garth1988by psikofunkster,Have you guys tried a factory reset via PC or MAC and iTunes?
I was suggested to perform this procedure by an Apple employee and so far i have not detected any more poppping. I don't claim victory yet but so far so good.
When i bought the device last november i applied 2 firmwares updates over the original firmware but i had never performed a factory reset on this device until i was told to do it.

Dec 20, 2014 2:56 PM in response to psikofunksterby Alphacatt,Yes, we have done everything. however i am not aware of any firmware update other than iOS 8.1.2.
That was bug fixes, security, and ringtone issue, which has been an issue for almost a year. Which also supports what rbrylawski stated. Every time I synced I lost my ringtones or they would be changed.

Dec 21, 2014 12:53 AM in response to psikofunksterby Alphacatt, yeah all of those updates. i thought someone was referring to anything beyond this 8.1.2. I may have returned mine but I am not out of the loop. I tried everything. This is not software thou... If your popping has subsided then that is great for you... I have employees that returned theirs and they are not popping at all. I will wait until after they put out the watch. Make sure I do not get another popcorn iPad... Go through that whole exchanging process all over again.
I do like the speed and smoothness thou... Any way I have kids to buy gifts for and holidays to celebrate before I start wasting my time on an iPad... Going to enjoy this break... Do sum golfing, family fun, and oh yeah relatives. Got to deal with the relatives. Fun fun fun...

Dec 21, 2014 4:58 PM in response to psikofunksterby Alphacatt,Why can you not do something? return it. Get an exchange or refund? I don't understand y so many are saying they cannot do anything? I love Apple but they are a huge company that answers only to money. But that does not mean they can break their own policies. Or bully people into not returning a broken device. If I buy anything from Apple I know I have 14 days to make sure it is not broken or I like it. If it is broken or I do not like it I take it back or send it back for a refund. Sometimes I will exchange it. Either way I have never been 'STUCK' with a broken device ever. I never allow anyone tell me not to return anything. That is why I stayed on this thread because people were telling others that this issue was software and they were going to wait it out. Apple, for example, just put out an update regarding ringtone issues. That ringtone issue has plagued Apple for at least a year. So bottom line you open the box and it is broken or pops or does that which it is not supposed to do return it. Some people say some countries are different and I am sorry for that but in the US except for I belueve four states you have an unconditional return policy of fourteen days. That means if for what ever the reason you do not feel comfortable with a device you can return it for a new exchange or refund.
I Am sorry if someone from Apple or someone from this forum told you to hold out for "a software upgrade" and you did Well shame on them and hopefully you can work something out with Apple. I returned a total of three to the same store to the same techs finally I got a refund regardless of what they said or did that was my choice.

When you are NOT american you don't get the same guarantees. Can't return it, no refund no exchanges. The only thing Apple is offering me is to examining it but because is a random issue which can't be replicated and i know the mexican "geniuses".....stuck is the word you used that is i'm stuck with a faulty device.
Until Apple don't accept this is an official issue you can cry but hardly they are gonna give you the reason...They are gonna examine your device but at the end they are gonna tell you it's working perfectly sir, can i do something else for you?

Dec 21, 2014 6:21 PM in response to psikofunksterby rbrylawski,Where are you located? In some countries the warranty is even better than the US warranty. If you purchased from Apple or an Authorized Apple reseller, you have the same warranty we have.

Dec 21, 2014 6:25 PM in response to rbrylawskiby psikofunkster,Mexico City. No exchanges no refunds here only on pretty serious cases may apply an exchange but Apple technicians here will never accept a pop as an "issue", as a matter of fact they will NEVER hear anything....if you know what i mean. I bought my device at Best buy Mexico (only 7 days for refunds) it has been a month already....
