Jan 7, 2015 12:37 PM in response to Garth1988by HappyHammer7,Right I was having the same issue when I brought the Air 2 in October. I had it swapped for another Air 2 and the replacement done the same thing. At this point, I have given up the idea of this iPad. I have decided to swap it for a Mini 3. Not bothered about the difference in screen size or the slightly less power it provides, so it suited me.
I do seem to be having quite a few issues with my Apple products of late. My iPhone 6 had the wifi issue (albeit now resolved) and my 2012 Mac Mini keeps crashing since installing Yosemite. Can't speak for others but my experiences lately has made me lose a bit of confidence in Apple. I never brought into the whole "it just works" nonsense but I expected more.
Hopefully, there is light at the end of the tunnel

Jan 7, 2015 1:04 PM in response to Garth1988by RobS10,I bought an Air 2 WiFi 64GB Space Gray (week 44 build) right before Christmas as a gift to my family. It was purchased at Costco, because I love their no-hassle 90 Day return policy. I also purchased an original Air Refurb WiFi 128GB from Apple, just in case;-).
I was able to get the new to pop when I switched the EQ to Late Night, as Air8 mentioned, but that is the only time it's ever done it (thanks a lot, Air8!). I haven't used the Air 2 a lot since the week after Christmas, but it has never popped before or since I tried Air8's trick. Do you think this problem is likely to start happening the longer I have it, or is it "a good one" and will be pop free? Has anyone gotten a pop free Air 2 that started popping after they had it a while? Reason is today is the last day I can return the Air 1 refurb to Apple.

Jan 7, 2015 1:09 PM in response to RobS10by Bshusky250,I had mine pop free for 2 months then one random pop when opening safari browser search bar. It was the 3rd one I exchanged debating on exchanging it but it was just one pop. If it does it more I might.

Jan 7, 2015 1:10 PM in response to RobS10by HappyHammer7,It's hard to say to be honest mate. I really hope you have but wouldn't put money on it. I brought the iPad Air 2 through John Lewis in the UK. When i returned the first faulty unit the customer service adviser said that they had received word from Apple that any iPads with this fault should be exchanged.
Funny that when I returned the 2nd unit, the person I spoke to said he was not aware of such communication between themselves and Apple.
My biggest concern with this iPad is that it seems like its quite a relevant issue (put it this way, this thread alone is nearly at 40 pages).
Does not seem that there is a fix, but if I was to have a wild GUESS, I would say it's a hardware fault.

Jan 7, 2015 1:13 PM in response to Moracby artus22,The procedure described phenomenon for both my ipad air2 as with the i phone 6 to these pop noise.
However, not how they occur after the initial boot, what a complete loss of audio quality leads - as frequently described here -
Jan 7, 2015 1:43 PM in response to HappyHammer7by RobS10,Agree, no one knows for sure ;-). Just hoping they did fix the issue before mine was manufactured, and the fact that it's not popping (except the one related to doing one specific thing I may never do) means it's going to be reliable, not a fragile device that may turn on me at a moments notice.
Again, do people who get one that doesn't pop once, in say a week after they buy it, find that it never does?

To be fair, a lot of the posts are by the same handful of people ;-).

Jan 7, 2015 2:44 PM in response to RobS10by ToastyFlake,I exchanged my unit that had the popping noise on December 18th. I have heavily used my new unit every day with no pops or any other issues.
