Nov 12, 2014 6:45 AM in response to Minchang Shinby Bshusky250,Just exchanged my Ipad Air 2 again on number 3 now. Apple store was really good about it. Hope this ones ok. Seems to be fine so far. They were kinda stumped on what could be making the popping.

Nov 12, 2014 10:34 AM in response to Garth1988by jrolson,I get the pop maybe 1-2 times a week. Seems to happen the most after a full battery charge, but it still happens randomly.
Happened once when on Safari and once when using Siri...
Not sure if I should exchange or wait until a software update?

Nov 12, 2014 10:40 AM in response to Garth1988by Drew609,Hey guys,
I just got the email that my replacement Air 2 came in.....this will be my third replacement. They told me that if this one has the same problem, they are going to send a report to the engineers.....I am going to ask that they send it anyways when I go in to pick it up. Will keep you posted. In any case, they said that Apple follows the return/replacement trails of all their products to investigate problems....I'm sure they have been seeing a trend with all the returns due to the popping problems....also was reading that iOS 8.1.1 is likely to be released sometime this week so hopefully something can be done to fix this.

Nov 12, 2014 10:54 AM in response to Drew609by jrolson,Drew609, Keep us posted on how your replacement turns out...
Seems others replacements have the same problem also.
Also, have anyone tried changing the "stereo" to "mono" audio in the accessibility settings? Wonder if this could be a fix if it was a driver problem?

Nov 12, 2014 10:56 AM in response to jrolsonby Bshusky250,I also notice it happens in the upper battery range usually does it around 100 percent but did it at 80 the other day with my other unit.

Nov 12, 2014 11:15 AM in response to Drew609by corneredcat, great news! its a shame that it would take 3 returns to send report to engineers! yes please hold em at gunpoint until they agree to send report NOW! LoL..kidding of course. i don't wish for anyone to have problems so don't take this the wrong way..but kind of hope you have the same issue! if thats the only way to get this escalate...
thanks for keeping us informed

Nov 12, 2014 4:25 PM in response to Garth1988by cptcanuck,I'M experiencing the same issue. Timing is random (purchased iPad 128GB Cellular on Sunday, Nov 9, 2014) and I have heard the "pop" twice. Think I will continue to follow the thread and wait to replace. With folks still experiencing issues with replacements, not worth the effort to replace as of yet.

Nov 12, 2014 4:30 PM in response to Jules728by Jules728,I replaced my Air 2 and have the same problem. I have noticed it seems to happen more when it is plugged in and nearly a full charge. i am going to track it and see if I can find any pattern. i have AppleCare so I am not going to replace it again just yet. Hoping for a fix.

Nov 13, 2014 10:59 AM in response to Bshusky250by Mr. Fazookus,Just so we're on the same page here the sound I hear is more snap or a zap than a pop, it sounds just like a spark....
