So my colleagues have received similar messages to this behavior and

A replacement of the device is not required and does not solve the problem.
There will be a software update that fixes the problem.
I don't want to be negative, i want this also to be solved but...
1) The issue was reported first as far back as October 2014, since then more than 4 months have passed and no fix was issued.
2) Some people here have affirmed they don't have an issue with their ipads so....this might be a hardware problem not software.
3) In my very very personal opinion yes, all the ipads are affected definitely as i already said before, glad to find other people who thinks like me.
But lets wait..
Not to be a PITA, but doesn't #2 conflict with #3?
yes they do however point 3 is not a fact, as i stated its just my very very personal point of view.

Feb 24, 2015 8:17 AM in response to psikofunksterby Air8,Of course it is the hardware or all units running the same iOS version would pop what is obviously not the case.
A hardware issue doesn't imply a software fix is impossible.

Feb 24, 2015 9:00 AM in response to Air8by psikofunkster, yes but that Apple representative if the stament is true stated the opposite saying all the units are affected...
personally i don't hold any hope for a fix though..

Feb 24, 2015 9:31 AM in response to psikofunksterby Tscherb ,Not all Ipad Air 2 are affected by the mysterious noise.
But definitely all Ipad Air 2 with keyboard sounds on.
How can I firmly do that?
Meanwhile, I had several Ipad Air 2 of different production weeks in hand.
All Models with pop included.
And the owners of the devices in my circle of friends did not put notice or no attention to it before.
For most , there are more important things in life.If I'm wrong I should 'll put me in the corner and ashamed . -

Not true. Some people reported no issues at all even with keyboard sounds activated.
The issue seems to be a combination of hardware & software possibly by using slightly different components in the iPops they are selling, e.g. different hardware revisions of the same component.

Feb 24, 2015 12:29 PM in response to Air8by Fridu,Unbelievable. Some days ago I wrote here that I had suddenly also thes Popup-Sounds. After 14 days I had suddenly no sound at all. In the speaker only sometimes the Popup-Sounds, nothing else. In my Blutooth headset only a loud permanent noise, no sound or music. Only the in the headset from apple over the jack I had normal sound. We tested all, rebooted and a lot of things, finally Apple support told me there is something broken. So I did send it to the Netherlands by UPS paied by Apple. Today I receive from Apple Netherland the Email, that they did check the iPad fully and there is nothing wrong, all works fine.
So my conclusion is, when sending the iPad I had to reset it to factory settings and that seems to have solved the problem. Perhaps a software that did that, I don't know. I will get it back in some days, restore the backup to it and then I will see what happens. This makes me really crazy, do not know what happens here.

Feb 24, 2015 3:14 PM in response to Friduby psikofunkster,Unless we are talking here about different pop issues if you get your same ipad back i can assure you 100% that is gonna pop again, the clean restoration doesn't get rid of this issue i have performed it at least 10 times.

Feb 25, 2015 3:37 PM in response to BMWKanteby Fridu,Now again some news that could be very interesting for all having the pop noise problem. I got mine back from the repair center. They didn't find anything why the sound does not work, all ok. So got it today, restored the backup and all Apps and Music. At this time all did work fine, sound back. Fine. I forgot to put my cellular card into the iPad, as I have WiFi and Cellular. And now interesting: Shutdown, put the cellular card into the ipad, restart it. And first thing i got is a loud pop sound. Entered and then, no sound anymore like before in my speakers, in my Blutooth headset. Sound still as previous in the Apple headset over the jack. Loundspeakers only sometimes a pop sound.
So I made again a restart, no sound, nothing than sometimes a pop sound. Now, shutdown and taking off the Cellular card, reboot and sound was back and no pop sounds anymore. It is the Cellular card that makes the problem. My question here: Do all having pop sounds have a Cellular and not only WiFi version of the iPad? We come close now to the problem. If you have a Celluar iPad, take off the card and look what it makes then. Then we can go to Apple when we have some results, thanks.

Feb 25, 2015 4:47 PM in response to Friduby NOYB234,Frida,
Both WiFi (5,3) and cellular (5,4) models have the problem. Just go back and read sum of the posts... It is both a hardware and software issue. One the speaker, two the software that controls RAM, and the Processessors...
All benchmark tests show good numbers even thou this random pop. All the basic Diagonstic test Apple runs say everything is running good. The device functions as expected in most of the popping cases. The issue is so irrelevant that even thou there are over 100,000 views Apple has not addressed it publicly and the techs still say the same thing.
All six of my cellular (all after market) work just fine no popping noise either. All four (2 after market) of my WiFi work just fine. One pops but it does not effect the performance in fact that one has, on average, better bench mark scores. I did return two early production 5,3 models that did have bad speakers and Apple refunded. I waited two months then upgraded my companies iPads and as I said they all work great.
I Agree with some other comments in here. Compare your popping iPad to a droid KitKat device and you will find the Apple device is still far superior. I truly believe the issue is benign in most cases.
Noting is perfect nor are people.

Feb 25, 2015 8:16 PM in response to Garth1988by psikofunkster,Its only superior because of the software not the hardware. If i have to choose bettween an iphone 6 or the next galaxy 6 (although i havent decided yet) pretty much i'd go for the galaxy Hardware is far superior, software may not be as good as ios but i'm not repeating the same pop experience.

Feb 26, 2015 4:09 AM in response to psikofunksterby NOYB234,Like i said any android device. Phone tablet you will find apples to be far better. There us not a computer, phone, or tablet that can give you the battery life that Apple can. As far as phones go, there nothing that can even compete with Apple. I have and still do work with the new galaxy and the HTC M8 and i can honestly say with out a doubt there is nothing that gives you the better platform and software than Apple. Even the customer service is far better. Go spend your money on those pieces of junk and find out for your self. When your battery runs out after two hours of use your going to wonder what is a little pop sound? Next time spend the extra 79.00 or 100.00 on the warranty and you would not be in here trolling on and on about a little popping Noise. If you really knew half of what Apple offers compaired to samsung or HTC or any droid operated device for that matter you would not be in here. Besides their phones cost more too. So go for it. buy a Galaxy instead of an iPhone find out what really bad service, OS, and hardware is. Next time spend the extra $$ on the warranty.
THis will be the last time i will spend any time on chatting with you. I have read your ogher posts and i am convinced you are truly confused and lack any real knowledge of anything regarding Apple or computers and you spend a little time in here just to whin about a popping noise and how bad you have it. It was your choice. If you want better go find it instead of posting in here. Good luck

Feb 26, 2015 5:06 AM in response to Tscherbby NOYB234,TScherb,
I hate to play devil's advocate here but you cannot truly say ALL iPad Air 2's make that noise. If that were the case Apple would truly fix the problem as they have fixed the little flickering display "bug". This issue truly is unfortunately nothing compared to some of the other issues plaguing iOS 8. It does not effect anything as far as my IT guys tell me and other third party iOS techs have said. But folks are rattling the cage so much about this it is amazing. Now i did too at first feel there was a major issue regarding the pop but now I just do not see how it is effecting any of the main functions of the iPad. I have six iPhone 6's used in buisness and 5 iPhone 6's used at home. None of those pop. Regarding the iPA2 goes the same amount but the six are cellular and the others are WiFi and none of those pop but one WiFi unit. All of them are late December builds. Apple does recognize that some iPA2's are experiencing speaker issues and they exchange those or refund depending on what the customer wants to do. So I agree there are two to maybe four different issues going on here. Some techs have been saying it is a bit of both but there is no reason to panic because it is nothing that could cause long term issues. Now please keep in mind that there are several different issues at play here and Apple has addressed the speaker "distortion" issue. I had that problem and the pop sound was very loud compared to the crackling sound some folks are hearing. I took my October built iPA2 back and Apple stated it was a bad speaker and refunded my money. Now the issue i am having with one of my WiFi units is a faint snapping or cracking sound and from Apple techs to a third party Apple tech said it was an issue with the RAM, processessors, and the software that controls the three. They also said it is nothing to worry about unless I start to experience glitchy performance then there is a problem but not because of the deal with the snapping sound. Apple is working on a solution but because it really is not an issue we may not see a fix but rather a new iOS and device all together. They have two confirmed Betas out there and an unconfirmed beta iOS 9. So i am waiting to see what Apple does next. Between the release of theirApple Watch, new MBA, iCash, another iPhone, other gadgets, and even an electric car this popping issue is the least of their concerns. Their still battling the NSA to keep them out of their sandbox. So their plate is full and I am very confident that they will have a fix shortly or by the next Generation. As such the Apple way.

Feb 26, 2015 10:21 AM in response to NOYB234by ToastyFlake,All Air 2s are under warranty for a year, purchasing extended Apple Care should make no difference as to whether they fix or replace a defective iPad that pops. The only advantage is that you maintain phone/chat support after 90 days and extend the warranty period to two years.
