Are you getting a replacement or a refund? If you do get it replaced with a 2015 unit could you please let us know if it pops too?
Thank you!

I'm under the impression that the affected units were manufactured until week 52. No new buyers are reporting this issue so perhaps all iPads made after December don't pop.
This is important for those who don't have the option to get a refund and can therefore demand a refurb that was made past week 52.
Mine was made in December, but don't remember which week. No pops ;-).

You'll probably think I'm out of my mind but yes! I don't want to wait another year for the next model to come out.
If it was a hardware flaw and the issue only affected units produced in 2014 then I just need to wait until the new batch hits the stores. If it hasn't already...

I'm really happy for you RobS10!
After reading/responding to this thread just after I bought mine in December, I am too! I don't blame you at all for doing exactly what I would be doing if I hadn't already bought an Air 2. If you belong to Costco, buy it there. They have a 90 Day, No Questions Asked Return policy that bought me peace of mind when I made my purchase.

Mar 6, 2015 10:07 AM in response to Garth1988by calvol,Two weeks ago, I bought the iPop Air 2 (16GB) from Staples on sale for $429, and it popped about 1x per 2 hours use. It was Week-43 production (DLxxx). Then, last night, I went over to the local Apple store and bought another one and it has Week-46 (DMxxx), but I haven't opened it yet, and think I will go back and see if they have stock with a 2015 manuf date.

Mar 7, 2015 7:29 PM in response to Drumtosurpriseby Keithadlerstudios,As I mentioned in one of my previous posts I have a few apps in the store. My colleague and I finally got around to updating a few of the apps and the popping happens inside the " XCode Emulator" which means this is a software issue. At least for my games and I assume why we have no complaints on any other devices.
So for any other developers out there that think its the device, run your code in the emulator and it will more than likely make the same pop.
We have changed some of the sounds but we notice it most frequently happens on ones with deep base or big frequency changes.
When we test on other devices or simulators there no problems.

Mar 8, 2015 12:52 AM in response to Keithadlerstudiosby Tallaron,YYour app would cause a pop when not using it? I get a pop without opening apps, and the one that caused my screen to mess up was when I got a pop tapping the sign in button at the App Store.

Mar 8, 2015 2:06 PM in response to Tallaronby Keithadlerstudios,No what I'm saying is in our apps certain clicks trigger the popping sound only on the iPad Air 2. The code is standard and compliant across all devices. And the same piece of code pops when you use the iPad Air emulator. If we test our apps with other device emulators there is no problem just like no problem with other physical devices.

Mar 8, 2015 4:31 PM in response to Garth1988by ANNEVenturetime,Hello all.
I also have this problem. I had my iPad exchanged for another and it also pops. Thing is, I just wanted to ask your opinions on the matter. Here in my country the Apple Service won't let me have another exchange, simply telling me that maybe "All iPad Air 2's are like that", which is complete BS. I am heading abroad in two weeks. The iPad that I have right now is flawless otherwise from the occasional pop.
More importantly, I have a sort of idea on how to know if your iPad is one that pops or not. This "test" might be useful when getting your iPad exchanged. Play music on your iPad and then go to Settings. There, switch the presets to "Late Night", and your device, if it pops, ought to produce a similar sound this way. If it's not an iPop, the song would pause for a bit and then continue, as expected, but no pop. If you guys were to test this out it would be great Thanks!
