Mar 11, 2015 1:06 PM in response to -Architecton-by calvol,I didn't buy a refurb. I bought a new iPad 2 Air new in a retail box at a local Apple store. I know what a refurb box looks like, and it was not a refurb, unless Apple is suddenly selling refurbs in new retail boxes.

Mar 11, 2015 1:14 PM in response to calvolby -Architecton-,That's what Apple Certified Refurbished means. They are used or faulty devices that have been repaired by Apple and put in new aluminum enclosures. They come in retail packaging too!
The only way to tell them apart from NEW new devices is the PRICE and serial number.

Mar 11, 2015 1:20 PM in response to -Architecton-by calvol,Again, I bought a new retail iPad at retail price in a local Apple store.
Apple refurbs come in brown boxes and are not sold at local Apple stores, they are sold online only.
Apple would go to jail if they were selling refurbs as new in retail boxes.

Well i disagree with your last sentence, Apple swears that those in brown boxes are brand new no refurbished.....we obviously know they are NOT still they are not going to any jail......so...
Now if a refurbished device can also mean new.....Apple wins.

Wow, googled this, it says in fact refurbished:
Refurbished new, see my point? the replacement is new but is a refurbished one.
The Apple lady who i spoke to on phone swore to me the replacements were not refurbished, liar, of course i didn't believe her.
Apparently you misunderstood the conversation. All replacements are reforms and always have been.

Where am i incorrect according to you?
I Have spoken with apple representatives a few times already and they have told me the device i could receive as replacement would come inside a brown box (without manuals or charger). They also have told me those replacements inside those brown boxes are brand new, not refurbished.
Are there two different types of brown boxes Im not aware of?
