Q: i am try to export a hd 1080 hd file from FCE to Quicktime and it exports to 4x3 squeezed look

I downloaded a hd video from my 5s iphone to Final cut express an edited a video. After finishing video I  tried to export a hd 1080 hd file from FCE to Quicktime and it exports to 4x3 squeezed look. I have tried many different aspect ratios 1920 x 1080, 720 etc. I am operating on a mac book pro osx 10.6.8. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    In the FCE Browser, click on your sequence to select it and type Command + 9 to see the Sequence Properties. Either report those properties, or take a screen shot of them and post that screen shot here.

     

    Can you describe the procedure you are using to export the file from FCE?

    Hello MtD, thanks much for your timely response. I did at your request found the Sequence Prop's and found that the video aspect ratio was 1440x1080 the one ratio that I didn't try. So  i made another pass with the export and it came out fine widescreen HD. So thanks very much for your time, I think the problem is solved.
