Can I switch back to Mavericks frrom Yosemite?

Yes, but depending on your backup prior to upgrading it's not always an easy process. Usually it's easier to try and fix your issues than revert. Have you tested in the Guest User or created a new User in System Preferences to see if your issues go away in a clean environment?
