Q: iBook G4 Won't Start Up How Do I get To Disk Utility?

I have an iBook G4 and it originally was running OSX 5.6 on it. I barely used it for much more than chatting but it crashed. I know that I got into Disk Utility once but I can't remember how to do that. Only thing I can find on here is how to boot in safe mode but it won't do that either.

I'm perfectly fine with erasing everything, but can I do that without installation disks? If so, how? Because I know there is a way to do this, as I got into disk utility before but no one seems to be posting about how to do that. Can I erase all the information on that computer without the install disks and start over when I get the installation disks? Or no?

Basically the computer will load the apple logo screen, then I get the "wheel" that basically means it's loading/to wait, then the screen goes black. Is there anything I can do without the installation disks? Please don't tell me to get those unless that's the absolute only thing I can do. I'm looking for away AROUND that if there is one because right now I don't have the disks and am trying to run it on the fly. I will locate the disks eventually but I got the computer second hand and it didn't come with any disks, everything was pre-installed. Thanks.
