And you cannot copy more to iCloud Drive than what can be mirrored on the Mac that is using iCloud Drive. Each file you upload will have a local copy on your Mac. So the available storage on your MacBook Air will limit the amount of files you can upload. You cannot use iCloud Drive as an external disk. It is for syncing.
