Nov 18, 2014 6:14 PM in response to jeffd55by mikraz22,Yup. Same problem here. Had NO Problems with any of my TV hardware with my old iPhone 5 running iOS 8. But now, with my iPhone 6 - It just will not connect?! The device will try but then the entire list of options in Airplay resets and it defaults back to my iPhone option. Sometimes it asks for the code and then just blinks resets again and does not connect. Oddly, every single other apple device I own (2012 Mac mini, 2013 MBP, iPad 3) ALL connect with NO problems! Could there be something faulty within my iPhone 6 (i.e.: hardware)? I'm beginning to rule out software now... Since iOS 8.1.1 AND Yosemite work fine unilaterally across the rest of the Apple Products.
Odd. >>> Fix this Apple<<<< — There's something up.
So, like the rest of us now here - Any suggestions welcome. And as a point of reference — I've been using Apple products since the Apple IIe and am a Certified Mac Tech (all be it a frustrated one) so, please don't request me to some standard list of simply resetting, restarting my device type suggestions... I've sincerely exhausted my options in that regard. Next step is to return the iPhone I guess.
Many Thanks

Nov 28, 2014 9:06 PM in response to mikraz22by Riobaby3,I Am having the same issue only when trying to play a "slo-mo" video on AirPlay. All the other videos play fine except for "slo-mo". Apple products are becoming too buggy. Nothing works well like it used to. Ever since Steve Jobs passed away they company is losing its edge. For the first time in many years I'm looking at other products.
Apple, our message to you is FIX THESE ISSUES OR WE WILL FIND OTHER PRODUCTS THAT WORK!

Nov 29, 2014 12:23 PM in response to mikraz22by eph518,I had a very frustrating/embarassing time with these issues as well over Thanksgiving but finally this worked for me - go to Photo Stream on my iPhone 6 (with iOS 8.0.2) and select a video and then from Control Center turned on Air Play/Mirroring and every thing seem to work again for now.
I posted my experience in Re: home sharing problems since Apple TV update
Hope this helps those on this thread but most of all hope it helps Apple troubleshoot this very annoying bug

Dec 8, 2014 8:06 AM in response to Riobaby3by sep23pal,Yep slo-mo doesn't work here either. There are many other problems besides this. Apple is losing it's edge. If anyone at Apple reads these...put that cash hoard to work and make the products you have work up to "Apple Standards" first then concentrate on the new stuff. What good are new products if you risk losing existing, soon to be disloyal customers, to buy them.
Running 5S and 8.1.1. Also a shareholder.

Dec 17, 2014 4:38 PM in response to mikraz22by mikraz22,Well, perhaps I resolved the issue here Jeff. Very simply - I just did a : "Reset All Settings" inside the Apple TV menu and that seemed to get me up and running again with mirroring. Give it try. Day 1 has been pretty good. Lets see if it sticks.
cheers.

Dec 20, 2014 12:28 AM in response to Riobaby3by Kimo D,totally agree. ever since the updates Apple TV no longer works on my ipad air 2 or my phone 5s or my imac. tried to get it working at my friends house with same 3rd gen apple tv. Same F'ing problem. getting really sick of the sh*t!!! I going to take all my Apple products back to the store really soon and get my money back and find another product that actually works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fix this crap!! total BS!!!
I tried the restart...
I tried the reboot on modem.... which worked on one device and the next day same thing all over again....
Theres about a 5% chance of getting this junk to work on one device if you spend an hour non-stop rebooting everything and then cross your fingers...
Total garbage.

Jan 3, 2015 12:35 AM in response to Kimo Dby macsince2gs,You have to scroll down in the little AirPlay popup. Slide up menu -> Airplay -> then scroll down!! I spent ages trying to fix it, not broken - just harder to find.

Apr 8, 2015 5:45 AM in response to Brisweeneyby BevnotanITnerd,I Was able to play 4 of our families iPads using our Apple tv and mirroring except one. However, I have just fixed it by going into the Bluetooth section of the Apple TV, and paired my bluetooth keypad I have for my iPad and miraculously, the BBC iplayer is now working using Apple tv and AirPlay mirroring
