Just purchased my ipad air 2 from apple store (celluar version) and want to activate cell using verizon. I had an ipad air 1 and would like to use the verizon lte sim card in my new air 2. Is this possible or do i need to either get a sim card from verizon (which some people on the forums are having difficulty with) or buy a new unactivated one from ebay?

not from usa but as far as I understand then version is cdma and as such does not use sim cards
Rudegar thanks for the response, but they use sim cards now with LTE. I have a verizon micro sim that came with my ipad air 1. The air 2 has the apple sim which does not work with verizon. I want to use the verizon sim from my old ipad air to my new ipad air 2.
You should be able to use the Verizon sim card on the new Cellular iPad Air 2 without issue.
FYI: Verizon has been using Sim cards for LTE Data access for a while now since there's no such thing as CDMA LTE.

As long as it's the correct sized SIM and is configured for use on an iPad, it will work. If not, just get another one from Verizon. Corporate stores don't charge for replacement SIMS.

Over here, our preponderant carrier charges $150 Pesos (~$10 US) for a 4G SIM. The old 3G SIMs they give for free if you purchased something else from them.
