Mini wakes from sleep with weird display resolution

I installed Yosemite last week on my 2010 Mac mini and every time it wakes from sleep or energy-saving mode, the resolution has changed and I have to go to Preferences > Display > click "Detect display" while pressing the 'alt' key, since the resolution options showing in the list are not proportional to my display. Normally using an LG L194WS display connected with a Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter. Is there any way to fix this so I don't have to go to Preferences a hundred times a day?

PS: Some Menu items and options names might not be accurate since I don't have my OS in English but I hope you get it.

Back up all data. Quit System Preferences if it's running.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

~/Library/Preferences/ByHost

In the Finder, select

Go Go to Folder...

from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return. A folder should open. If it does, look for a file with a long name that begins "com.apple.preference.displays2". There may be several such files. Move them all to the Trash.

Log out or restart the computer. Test.
