iTunes 12.0.1.26 on Mac won't sync with my IOS devices

I can't sync any of my IOS devices with iTunes 12.0.1.26 on Mac. I have an iPhone 6 64gb (IOS8.1) and iPad 1 (IOS 5.1.1) every time i connect my devices through USB cable my iTunes stops working and I have to force close the application. I have reset my iPhone, I have uninstalled and re-installed iTunes and reinstalled Yosemite on my mac.

Does anyone know a fix or having the same problem?

My iPhone 5S and iPad mini (both iOS 8.1) have the same problem when syncing with my Macbook Air (Yosemite). I did request for help from Apple Support for several times with different advisors and the problem has yet to be resolved despite of following their steps and advice on how to reset, change the settings and etc....

I couldn't backup my devices through the iTunes and wonder I should upgrade my devices anymore!!

Tried the solution in link in the previous comment from PTT69BIO.

itunes will recognize either of our two iPhone 5S's if I force quit iTunes and restart while the phone is connected. I have to force quit iTunes because it will not quit normally. we are running latest Yosemite and latest iOS on phones. HELP????????

also gets hung up at "waiting for changes to be applied" .

I would like to join this discussion. here is my contribution:

It has been a problem for me over time (spans several versions of both iPhone, iTunes and MACOSes)that iTunes does not sync properly between my MacBookPro and my iPhone.

The problem persists even on iPhone 6.

The problem is easily described: I buy a song on iTunes on my MaBookPro iTunes client, and add it to a playlist. Then I ask the same client to sync the new song and the playlist addition of it to my iPhone. This never works the way you would expect from Apple software. The efforts I have to make to get the new song and the playlist addition over to my iPhone (like restarting both MacBookPro and iPhone, repeating the Sync-request until one of the devices hangs, or else the Sync-process uses huge amounts of time and behaving strangely and illogically from one request to the other, etc) remind me of the worst and most clumsy versions of Windows.

Obvioulsy this problem has been reported many times. Why isn't it solved? Is it because Apple does not want to, or is it because they can't?

"Apple Support Communities" = average people like us trying to help each other out because Apple can't/won't.

The latest OS updates have been a disaster. After installing the latest iTunes update 12.0.1.26 I can't get my phone to sync either. I'm not even sure Apple cares about this at all.

BTW, Yosemite has essentially rendered my laptop useless. Every click of the mouse results in 5 minutes of the spinning pinwheel of death.

For as much as it pains me, I am giving serious consideration to changing back to the Windows platform.

We just want software that works.

Hmmm, okay that didn't happen with me. I'm no specialist and maybe the more advanced IT people would correct me if I'm wrong.

One thing I did before I ran that was to delete ~/Library/Application Support/SyncServices.

To do this I went into finder and then on the top select go->"Go to Folder" and paste "~/Library/Application Support/SyncServices". Delete the SyncServices folder and try the other thing again.

I'm pondering what else it could be... are you trying this with administrative privileges on?

Sorry I couldn't be more direct with a solution
