I Have an iPhone 5 and upgraded to iOS 8. My friend shared his location indefinitely and I've verified it, but his location won't show up in his details. Help! I've tried everything. Looked at both of our phones (his is a 6) and our settings look exactly the same. He can see my location, but I can't see his.

i had the exact same problem -- other person could see my location when shared indefinitely but i could not see theirs. there is one small box that i found needed to be checked: settings --> privacy --> location services --> system services (at bottom) --> frequent locations --> must be checked green for on, and you will probably need to enter your apple ID to change it.

I understand all of that, which is why I'm frustrated that it's not working. All the location services setting are on and the iMessage "Share my location indefinitely" is confirmed, but I still cannot see the other contact's location.

I had this problem and had to enable wifi networking in system services to fix it. Setting->privacy->location services->system services
If you have a find friends app, chances are your cellular data isn’t on for you to be able to see his location. I just turn the data on to use it without WiFi and now I’m able to see my Fiancés location with or without WiFi. All you do it go to your settings, cellular, find friends and turn it on.
