Oct 29, 2014 12:43 PM in response to me3654by Jfrimpon,I have this problem too... Does anyone have an idea as to how to fix it? I already turned off location services for Calendar and then restarted my Mac but it didn't help :/

Nov 7, 2014 10:40 AM in response to me3654by atxmaclover,This is a disappointing and frustrating problem. I cannot add suite or unit numbers to addresses on invites, or other relevant location context.
I'm fine with maps integration, so long as it doesn't get in the way of non-mapped uses.
Hopefully this gets fixed.

Nov 7, 2014 11:23 AM in response to atxmacloverby Eric Root,Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

Dec 9, 2014 6:31 AM in response to Eric Rootby rcuttill,I've found a way around it. Add Zs to the address and then it doesn't have e suggestion.
For example
To stop Calendat changing
Woodside High School. White Hart Lane, Wood Green, London. N22 5QJ
to
White Hart Lane, London, England, N22, United Kingdom
with the school and half the postcode missing
You change
Woodside High School. White Hart Lane, Wood Green, London. N22 5QJ
to
ZZWoodside High School. ZZWhite Hart Lane, ZZWood Green, London. ZZN22 5QJ
And you don't get a suggestion.
You may need several Zs in various places because it tries to recognise the address.
This is a ridiculous problem that Apple has created and seems just arrogant to me.

Jan 6, 2015 12:16 PM in response to me3654by scarabei,I have the same problem. Drives me nuts. My work around was adding suite and apartment numbers in the body of the invite or using Outlook for Mac 2011 for business meetings and WebEx integration.
Apple, please fix or people will go back to Microsoft mother ship.

Jan 8, 2015 8:19 AM in response to me3654by mathlover1,Same problem here. As a college student, I enter the names of halls and classroom numbers for my classes and events, but I get locations halfway across the country. It does me no good to have to open the event just to see location.

Jan 13, 2015 5:40 PM in response to me3654by doscoharsh,I found a solution (may not work always, but works most of the times for me)...this is only for Mac...
1) Click on the "Add Location".2) Before entering the location, make sure your mouse is hovering somewhere above the title of the event. (Basically, it shouldn't be anywhere close to the Add Location area).
3) Enter your location only (Do not press any button after you've typed the location).
4) You'll probably see a suggestion box drop down and show you a list of possible locations.
5) Now drag your mouse down to the 'Alert' section but make sure that the mouse does not go over the suggestion box (because if it does, it leaves it highlighted which causes it to get selected as the final location).
6) Click on the Alert section (You do not necessarily need to make any changes to the Alert section).
7) The address should be there as you typed it.
I'm not guaranteeing that this will work but it's worth a shot. Also, you can use anything other than the 'Alert' section, but 'Alert' is how it worked for me. This is a rather stupid issue that Apple has yet to fix, but until then, cheers!

Jan 14, 2015 6:04 AM in response to doscoharshby scarabei,Thank you for the response. The suggested steps do not work for me :-(
As soon as I click anywhere other than the "Location" field, the address changes. This is a major problem. Moreover, when other people receive the invite, the street number, city and state are all mashed together without punctuation, which does not look professional in other mail clients. For example:
123 Main Street, San Diego, CA 92101
becomes
123 Main Street San Diego CA 92101 United States
I will be calling Apple support today to report this as a bug. Hopefully, this expedites the fix.

Jan 15, 2015 12:04 PM in response to scarabeiby Matt Whiting,The tip doesn't work for me either.
This is a shocking user experience issue. I don't know if this is UK specific, but for all the appointments I enter in London, Calendar rips out the name of the venue and replaces it with just the street address. So "The Waiting Room, 175 Stoke Newington High Street, London N16 0LH" becomes "175 Stoke Newington High Street, London, England, N16 0LH, United Kingdom".
Aah, right, London is England which is in United Kingdom, thanks for that, but errr what was the venue called again?
And then Maps sends me to the wrong place too, ho ho.
Truly awful, Apple, sort your act out.

Jan 16, 2015 8:22 AM in response to me3654by mathlover1,I found that it usually works when I finish typing the address to hit Tab and that sends it to the time, travel time, repeat, etc. section. However, I do it quickly before the address suggestions pop up. If one becomes highlighted blue, I think the Tab button selects the address. However, if you can enter the address and hit Tab before the suggestions appear, you should be good.

Jan 16, 2015 11:10 AM in response to me3654by scarabei,So I contacted Apple support about this issue. Two different technicians were able to reproduce the problem in OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 with Calendar v8.0 (2026). The escalation engineer said that this was "normal" behavior, but agreed with me that it is a ridiculous behavior. Especially considering you could tab or escape out of the auto-fill in Mavericks. The tech opened a case and submitted it up the chain to the developer team. He also suggested I submit feedback to Apple online.
Everybody reading this thread, please go to http://www.apple.com/feedback/ and post your complaint. Apple regularly queries these for feature enhancements and bug fixes.
In the meantime, start using Outlook and Google Calendar to type in your addresses. Soon you will forgo Apple Apps all together :-)

Jan 16, 2015 3:52 PM in response to scarabeiby Matt Whiting,I've submitted my feedback. Speaks volumes that you have to submit it about "iCal" - and the latest version you can select is 4.0.4 when I'm running 8.0!

Jan 20, 2015 10:22 AM in response to me3654by 85366,Turn off your internet and then input the address - it won't be able to search for it anymore. Worked for me after a long and stressful existential crisis on how much control over my day-to-day functions Apple products have.

Jan 23, 2015 3:19 AM in response to doscoharshby EKWW,This is what I do:
(1) Create the event.
(2) Let Calendar put in whatever address it wants to on the Mac.
(3) Change the address on my iPhone.
iCloud does the rest.
Although now my Calendar says what I want it to, it takes far too long to get there - hardly user-friendly and very, very annoying.
