Oct 28, 2014 8:41 AM in response to sabina16by FoxFifth,As you probably now understand, using iTunes to sync photos to a phone is designed in a way that the originals should always remain on the computer; i.e., the phone is not meant to be a backup for the computer. You can use 3rd party software to copy them from the phone back to the computer but the ones not originally taken on the phone are likely to be lower resolution than the originals. Following is one 3rd party software that claims to transfer iTunes synced photos. There may be others. http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/features/features_photo.php

No version of Windows or Mac will prompt to transfer photos that were placed onto to the phone from a computer via iTunes sync. They are treated differently than photos that were taken on the phone. i.e., if you take a photo on the phone and connect to a computer, it should prompt as you say -- but it will then only allow you to transfer the photos taken on the phone that were never removed from the phone. If the photos are removed from the phone and then put back via iTunes sync they will not be transferrable by that method.

Thanks Fox5th
You can't reimport pictures synced from your computer to your device back to your computer. You can only import pictures in the Camera Roll or Saved Photos from your device to your computer. If you need to retrieve synced photos from your device:
- Email them from the device to yourself.
- Copy them from the emails to your computer.
No 3rd party app needed.

Oct 19, 2015 1:09 AM in response to sabina16by Chris7thson,You can try to transfer photos from iPhone 5s to PC by following ways:
1.Use cloud drive like Dropbox, One Drive. Upload your photos from iPhone to cloud and download on your computer.
2.Use iTunes. Open iTunes > Connect your iPhone > Select your phone's icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab. If you want to sync all your photos, enable the option for "All photos, albums, events, and faces."
