Protective Screen/Microfiber cloths for iPad Air 2?...

So what cloth is best to use on my nekkid iPad Air 2?

This is iPad related... I am not super fond of the Zagg type microfiber cloths to clean my new iPad so I went to Office Depot to buy some more soft ones with thicker fibers and when I went home to rinse them with soap and water and found they leaked a bunch of Red dye. Do all microfiber cloths like this blead dye? http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/328506/Ativa-Microfiber-Cleaning-Cloths-Re d-Pack/

Or are there some white ones or something that would be better?

And if i put a small amount of water on the cloth will it dye my iPad's white bezel or screen? What is the best cloth to use for iPad Air 2?

Side Note: I chose not to get a protective glass or plastic cover as it hinders the screen and I have dealt with too many issues installing them in the past and having "professionals" intall them did not help. Several Apple store employees even recommended against them. And they were cool about how they told me they werent necessarry unless i'm a person always travelling or using my iPad roughly. It was 2 different dudes that suggested it too.

sorry this is a random and odd post with different questions,

But main questions are:,

1: Protive screen:..... Do I NEED one if I don't take my iPad anywhere but my room?

2: Screen Cloth:..... What kind of or where can I get a good thick microfiber cleaning cloth that won't bleed and will not scratch my iPad Air? (like will a White one work?)

Thanks so so much for any help.

I picked up a pack of 3 cloths from Walmart. They were in the computer section of the store and each one had a different finish on them. They were each even embroidered with a label; screen, glass and dust (I think). Anyway, 2 are blue and one is grey. I find they work fine but have never washed them to see if the bleed color. I can't image they would since the blue cloths have a light color. Also, when i went to get my car tinted, I noticed they were using the exact same cloths ( the plush one, but without the embroidered labels) to finish wiping down the tint they just installed. I'm pleased with them as they are great for removing finger prints and leave a nice shine behind. Color has never rubbed off with these.

Also what is everyone's opinion on protective screens? I would only buy and install one again if it was neccessary and was done by me, as Best Buy scratched the bottom of my iPad while trying to install the thing. So I decided to not go with them EVER again, also a few Apple reps from Apple store said unless i'm doing crazy stuff I don't need them. But I would love to know from anyone here on... "has not having a screen protector ever been an issue?"

Thanks again for any help and input. 🙂

Geez, what were they doing that they could scratch the iPad by installing a screen protector? I only use them on tablets I plan to share with my kids. I usually keep my own tablets in a case so I don't feel I've ever needed one. Phones are a different story since they go in and out of my pocket and I'm sometimes out and about while using it. Tablets I'm usually sitting somewhere so there is let likelihood that I'm going to be dropping it or exposing the screen to any harm.

Microfiber cloths will vary widely depending on where you get them & the brand. I haven't really come across any color bleeding issues with the cloths I've used when they've been washed as they have all been light in color (3M white, 3M blue, various other brands green/yellow/orange).

One thing that is a big concern to me personally is the shedding of the microfiber fibers and/or dust from the cloth itself. One test I now use is to hold the cloth and hit the iPad/iDevice screen with a loose , heavy section of it repeatedly about 10 times (kind of like beating the dust out of a regular dust cloth against a hard surface). Some cloths will shed ALOT of fibres onto the screen and can be see after only one or two hits. These are the cloths I avoid since simply wiping the screen with it leaves tons of fibers & dust behind. And they will also tend to exhibit that same behavior even after being washed multiple times.

The best ones I've found are those made by 3M and some that are sold in AutoZone (yes, AutoZone).

Thanks for all the help everyone. I found a microfiber cloth that said it's specifically for tablets, TV's and other electronics, it was 5 bucks at walmart. I washed it with soap and water and not a single drop of ink bled from it. Now I just have to fight back the OCD urge to get a protective screen cover. I love the smart cover I got from Apple.I am just always nervous when wiping the screen down when there are marks from my oily fingers, also I have dry hands so I worry I might scratch it there too, lol.

But thanks again everyone.

I would love to put a screen protector on my iPad mini 2 as well...the problem is that I guess I'm OCD as well when it comes to the screen. It's tough enough putting a screen protector on a small device such as an iPhone...any specks of dust underneath drive me nuts and I have to redo the installation. A larger device like an iPad would be much more prone to something getting between the screen protector and the screen so I just use it as it is. I also use Apple's Smart Cover along with a cheapie back shell. I like this setup as it allows you to pull the entire cover off (so it's not flopping around) yet still have the back protected.
