How do I delete books from iTunes 12? The books only show up on the list of what is available to be synced to my iPod Touch. Nothing from the availability list is deletable. Thanks in advance for any help.

Answer to my own question: Deleting books in iBooks deletes books from iTunes.
(Is that what happens when a Mac owner refuses to read a manual because everything's been so easy for Mac owners?)
You don't have to delete books from iBooks (it works but you loose the book altogether).
In iTunes you select your device and you select books in the sidebar. You select synchonize books and selected books. iTunes shows you all the books that are imported in iBooks. You can select or deselect every book you want.

I started working with iBooks, imported all of the books deleted from iTunes (and which suddenly vanished from my phone - not a way to make happy customers!), and succeeded.
Now I have iTunes showing me duplicate entries for some titles, which makes no sense because there's just 1 copy in iBooks. there does;t seem to be any way to delete the duplicates. Now what?
