Unauthorized photo of my credit card

Can a picture of my credit card be used on another person's iPhone? If someone got a picture of my credit card, couldn't they use Apple Pay since no one looks at the card on the device?

In terms of "concern about breaches", Apple Pay is the best news ever! Apple does not actually keep a record of your Card, after you are registered in Apple Pay. During the Retail Transaction your Card Number is Never Used, as it isn't captured in the first place. Once the Cr Card you select is placed in PassBook and Verified, the SE Chip in your iPhone sends only two codes when you purchase anything. One Code is a five digit Unique Device ID (i.e., your iPhone) and the other is a Single-Use Code that is not any part of your Cr Card Number. Even your Name is not captured or sent when your purchase is made. A Data Breach would gain Nothing for the perpetrator.

I LOVE that AmEx now sends me a message after every single purchase I make using their card, even places that don't yet accept ApplePay. If there were a strange charge, I could contact AmEx immediately.

I cannot believe that after the Target debacle a year ago, they are not using ApplePay in stores but are going to the competing new product! Am I likely to give Target all my personal info, including my SS number, and access directly to my checking accounts? In what parallel universe are these people living!!!! I don't give that info to my own family members - certainly not to any store and absolutely not to Target!!!

I was experimenting with Apple Pay and could load my husband's credit card on my Passbook/Apple Pay account. This is my concern with an unscrupulous waiter who takes my credit card when I pay the restaurant bill and loads it to his Apple Pay account. Of course it could happen with traditional cards and skimming devices, but the beauty of Apple Pay was supposed to be the security. My husband's card was verified and loaded to my phone without a hitch. Any advise on how to prevent this kind of fraud

Well actually when I loaded my husband's credit card to my phone all I needed was the name on the card, card #, expiration date and security code on the back. All information that would be accessible to the "waiter". I have not use Apple Pay to pay for anything yet, as I have been a little worried. I have only loaded the credit cards and stopped at this point. Perhaps upon paying it would stop me from using my husband's card, but I don't see how based on what I read, since the transaction doesn't transfer personal information back and forth between the merchant and device. I am surprised the verification process of loading his card let me do it, as I am not on his account. (And he could load my credit card on his Apple Pay account on his phone, again he is not on my credit card.)

Thanks for all the insight, expertise and experience on all your usage. I'm still a little scared. 😕
